The cost of a funeral service is unique to the wishes of the family. Dobies Funeral Homes has a variety of options to choose from, ranging from a Traditional Burial to a Direct Cremation. In order to give you an accurate quote on the type of service you have choosen or if you need assistance with choosen a service, please call Dobies Funeral Home and ask to speak to one of our professional Licensed Funeral Directors.

The goods and services shown below are those we can provide to our customers. You may choose only the items you desire. However, any funeral arrangements you select will include a charge for our basic services and overhead. If legal or other requirements mean you must purchase any items you did not specifically ask for, we will explain the reason in writing on the statements we provide describing the services and goods you selected.

SERVICES OF FUNERAL DIRECTOR AND STAFF

Our fee for the services of funeral director and staff includes, but is not limited to: staff to respond to initial request for service; arrangement conference with responsible party; arrangements of funeral; preparation and filing of necessary authorizations and permits; placements of local obituaries; staff assistance prior to, during and following the funeral; and coordination with those providing other portions of the funeral such as clergy, cemetery, crematory and others. Also included are overhead expenses such as insurance; maintenance and utility expenses; secretarial and administrative costs; and equipment and inventory expenses.

This fee for our basic services and overhead will be added to the total cost of the funeral arrangements you select.

EMBALMING

Except in certain special cases, embalming is not required by law. Embalming may be necessary, however, if you select certain funeral arrangements such as a funeral with viewing. If you do not want embalming, you usually have the right to choose an arrangement that does not require you to pay for it such as direct cremation or immediate burial.

Traditional Burial

This charge includes services of funeral director and staff; embalming; bathing, disinfecting, dressing, cosmetizing and casketing; use of facilities and additional staff services for one day of visitation; use of facilities and additional staff services for funeral service or additional staff services and equipment for service in other facility: transfer of remains to funeral home; hearse; lead car; and service car.

Graveside Service

This charge includes basic services of funeral director and staff; embalming; bathing; disinfecting, dressing, cosmetizing and casketing; additional staff services and equipment for graveside service; transfer of remains to funeral home; hearse; lead car; service car.

This service does not include the use of facilities and additional staff services for any type of visitation prior to graveside service.

Immediate Burial (From)

This charge includes services of funeral director and staff; embalming; bathing, disinfecting, dressing, cosmetizing and casketing; transfer of remains to funeral home; hearse; and service car for burial within 24 hours from onset of death.

This charge does not include embalming or refrigeration (which is required after 24 hours from onset of death), use of facilities, additional staff services or equipment for any type of visitation or funeral service prior to burial.

Forwarding Remains To Another Funeral Home

This service does not include the use of facilities and additional staff services for any type of visitation or funeral service prior to shipping.

Receiving Remains from Another Funeral Home

This charge includes services of funeral director and staff; transportation of remains from airport; and hearse to cemetery.

This charge does not include sheltering of remains; use of facilities, additional staff services or equipment for any type of visitation or funeral service prior to burial.

Traditional Cremation

This charge includes services of funeral director and staff; embalming; bathing, disinfecting, dressing, cosmetizing and casketing; use of facilities and additional staff services for one day of visitation; use of facilities, equipment and additional staff services for funeral service; transfer of remains to funeral home; service car; use of our standard rental casket; care, handling and preparation of ashes; corrugated alternative container; and crematory fee.

This charge does not include lead car to other facility for memorial service.

Cremation With Memorial Service

This charge includes services of funeral director and staff; up to 48 hours of refrigeration; use of facilities, equipment and additional staff services for memorial service; transfer of remains to funeral home; service car; handling and preparation of ashes; corrugated alternative container; and crematory fee.

This does not include lead car to other facility for memorial service.

Direct Cremation

This charge includes services of funeral director and staff; up to 48 hours of refrigeration; transfer of remains to funeral home; service car; care, handling and preparation of ashes; and crematory fee.

This charge does not include use of facilities, additional staff services or equipment for any type of visitation or funeral service prior to cremation. If you want to arrange a direct cremation, you can use an alternative container. Alternative containers encase the body and can be made of materials such as fiberboard or composition materials (with or without an outside covering). The container we provide is a corrugated cremation container.

Anatomical Donation

This charge includes services of funeral director and staff: arterial embalming only; bathing and disinfecting; shelter of remains; transfer of remains to funeral home; transfer of remains to Gainesville; and service car.

This charge does not include use of facilities, additional staff services or equipment for any type of visitation of funeral service prior to donation.

This list does not include prices for certain items you may ask us to purchase for you such as cemetery services; flowers; newspaper notices; death certificates; gratuities for clergymen, organists or soloists; airline transportation charges or other third party items. The prices for these items will appear on the statement which itemizes the goods and service you selected.
