June 21, 1952~March 01, 2022

It is with great sadness that the family of Vicki Ann Vitter announces her unexpected passing on March 1st, 2022, at the age of 69.  She was born in Girard, PA and grew up in neighboring Lake City PA. She was a graduate of Girard High school and received her bachelor’s in criminal justice from Gannon University. At the time of her passing, she was a resident of Holiday, Florida.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Loren and Ruth (Talso) Stearns, Her brother William Stearns, and her nephew William Stearns Jr. She is survived by her five children Thomas (Kristy) Blatchey, Crystal Blatchley, Chad Blatchley, Amy (Ryan) Fisher, and Adam (Jennifer) Vitter, her eleven grandchildren, Ryan Blatchley, Jacob Fisher, Emma Blatchley, Jason Fisher, Joshua Blatchley, Garrett Vitter, Jessica Fisher, Audrey Blatchley, Ethan Vitter, Jack Fisher, and Ava Vitter; as well as her brothers Thomas (Santina) Stearns, Jacob (Gloria) Stearns, and James (Linda) Stearns; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Throughout her life, Vicki held a variety of occupations, but the common theme among them was at their core they were positions where she could help people, she was always trying to make someone else’s day a little better. She held so much love in her heart for everyone she encountered, a genuine kindness that left a lasting impression.

She lived for her children and her beloved grandchildren. Always a source of encouragement, inspiration, and positivity. She never missed a birthday, sporting event, dance recital, or graduation. Their accomplishments, no matter how routine or mundane were an opportunity for her to celebrate (sometimes to excess).  She lived to see her line thrive and succeed, but more importantly…just be happy.

Vicki’s life was rooted deeply in her Christian beliefs. She was heavily involved in the church, and her faith and love for the Lord shown through in everything she did. There is no question that she is walking with the Lord in Heaven now.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Metropolitan Ministries would be greatly appreciated.

I’m still trying to wrap my head around that she has passed. I didn’t realize she was living back in Florida. Gosh the stories we could have shared about our kids in ROTC and relived those crazy times. My heart goes out to your family❤️
