We celebrate the long and full life of Eleanor Audrey Thorp (née Schwartz) who passed peacefully on June 21st, 2022, at the incredible age of 103.

Born February 23rd, 1919, in New York, she was the daughter of James and Helen Schwartz, and sister to James and Fred Schwartz. She married Arthur Richard Thorp on February 12th, 1944. They celebrated 45 years of marriage prior to Arthur’s death in 1989.

Eleanor is survived by her children Richard (Jeanne), Paul (Vanessa), Stewart (Debbie), Sheila and Eleanor (Dan); her twelve grandchildren; and twenty-five great-grandchildren.

A devout Catholic, Eleanor’s loved ones will remember her faithfulness, selflessness, and willingness to help those in need. She worked with adults in group care before retiring from New York to Florida. Additionally, she was a compassionate and generous supporter of widows groups, underprivileged children, and veterans on behalf of her late husband, a WWII veteran. She loved dining out, Murder She Wrote, and a good piece of chocolate,

Visitation will be from 9:45 am to 10:30 am on June 27th, 2022, at Espiritu Santo Catholic Church. A service will follow at 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Alzheimer’s Association
