Geraldine M Marshall

September 05, 1942~July 24, 2022

Geraldine “Gerry” Michaeline Jeska Marshall was born on September 5, 1942, and passed away on July 24, 2022,
at the age of 79.

She passed at the Marliere Hospice House after valiantly fighting Waldenstrom’s Lymphoma and Ductile Liver
Cancer. She was originally from Pinconning, Michigan, and was a resident of Odessa, Florida since 1973.
She is survived by her children – Eric “Ric” (Georgia “Cindy”) Marshall, Timothy “Tim” (Shelia) Marshall, and Kellie
(Lynn “Tom”) Jondro. Grandchildren – Felicia Marshall, Alexandra “Allie” (Paul) Burke, Tara (Charlotte) Brown,
Rebekah “Bekah” Barragan and Alexander “Xander” Barragan. Great grandchildren – Ryker, Delilah, Connor, and
Declan. She is also survived by her sister, Lorraine “Lori” (Daniel) Galonska. She leaves behind nieces, nephews,
extended family, and friends in Michigan and Florida. She loved her foster Yorkie pup, Cali Ray.

Gerry was predeceased by her parents, Chester “Chet” and Albina “Bea” Jeska, brother Eugene “Gene” Jeska,
and ex-husband, Marvin Marshall.

She was a Registered Nurse at the James A. Haley Veterans Hospital in Tampa, Florida for over 25 years. She also
worked as a home-health nurse for many years. She was a hard worker and a positive role model. Before
becoming a nurse – and to put herself through nursing school – she was a lunch lady, housekeeper, victim’s
assistance advocate, and a census worker. She was stubbornly practical and practically stubborn. She was the
neighborhood Kool-Aid Mom, a kisser of boo-boos, a cheerleader at all the kids’ games, a listener, and a confidant. She
was a straight shooter and offered good advice without sugar-coating.
Gerry enjoyed nature and the simple things in life, like bird and butterfly-watching with a good cup of coffee on
her back porch. She enjoyed reading and crocheting afghans and rugs. Her home served as a respite, sanctuary,
and bed & breakfast to many. The neighborhood kids knew where to go for full-sized Butterfingers on
Halloween.

Grandma Gerry or “GiGi” was arguably her favorite title and role in life.

Gerry Marshall will live on through the innumerable lives she touched and is deeply missed by so many.

For those who knew my Mom, Gerry Marshall, the family would like to share that we are having a Celebration of Life for her on Friday, 12/2/22 at 1 PM at the Fraternal Order of Police Pasco Lodge 29 at 4300 Land O’ Lakes Blvd.
We will be serving up some barbeque and sides.
Feel free to bring a covered dish to share and BYOB.
I look forward to seeing everyone and hearing stories of how she touched so many lives.

I was so excited with the thought of being able to spend time with Gerry and her family when we moved from Michigan to Florida in 2021. Sadly we only had a couple of visits before Gerry passed. But I will treasure those we did have. Now with mom gone, and Gerry too, I hope we can continue getting together and strengthen family ties. Love you all!

So sorry for your loss.
Hadn’t seen her in years, but remember her from when we were growing up. Our families spent a lot of time together when my dad and Uncle Chet worked together.

So sorry to hear this. Such a nice lady. Such a talent. I never did learn to crochet as good as she could. I’ll cherish the rugs she made for me.
