Marie was a real New Yorker. She was born in Manhattan but lived most of her life in Brooklyn and then Staten Island. She was most proud of obtaining her MA in education at Brooklyn College. In 2008, Marie moved down to Tarpon Springs, Florida. Marie had many secretarial and teaching jobs, including a job for the Air Force during wartime when she was in her 20’s. More recently, Marie was a volunteer tutoring children in Staten Island schools and she was a volunteer at Advent Health ,Tarpon Springs.
She loved to paint oils and watercolors. Marie was a giver of joy. She handed out hand painted birthday cards to everyone, including postal workers, Publix employees and bank tellers.
Marie loved to sing; she sang in the choir at Saint Christopher’s Church in Staten Island as well as St Ignatius in Florida where she was a member of the Women’s Council and Rosary Makers. She is survived by her daughters, Heather and Audry, grandson Richard and cat Grazie.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations made in her name to local animal rescues: secondchanceforstrays.com or rescuepink.net

Mom: You taught me humility, kindness, gentleness and love. You walked in faith providing a real example for this path of life. I was privileged to care for you until the end. There is a void in my heart; you are missed terribly. Love always, your daughter. HEATHER
