Charles Blank

March 05, 1954~September 10, 2022

On Saturday, September 10, 2022, Charles L. Blank, who was known by those who loved him as “Chuck,” a beloved brother, husband, father, and grandfather, passed away. He was sixty-eight years old. Born to William R. Blank and Shirley A. Werner, Chuck was a proud union man who had worked in various jobs with companies such as Coca-Cola and Copperweld Steel. At Copperweld, Chuck worked in the 12-inch mill and would work his way up to the position of an electrician.

Chuck graduated from Howland High School and attended Youngstown State University. However, Chuck started his greatest path of eventually becoming a loving husband and consummate family man one fateful day when he was set up on a blind date by a family friend. It was there he met Tamara. They were together for nearly forty years.

Chuck was best known for his quick-witted humor, fierce determination, and generous spirit. He loved camping, fishing, golfing and listening to music; which was a passion he shared with his children. He is survived by his wife, Tamara, his son Jonathan (Janelle) Blank, his daughter Chelsea (David) Gonu, his grandchildren Lillian, Sophia, Charlotte, Eleanor, and Theodore, and his siblings William (Toni) Blank, William (Jeannette) McManus, and Sherrie Blank Christman.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 16th at 3:00 PM at Dobies Funeral Home: 6616 Congress Street New Port Richey, FL 34653. Calling hours for family and friends will be at 2:00 PM, one hour prior to the memorial service.

Condolences can be entered into the guest book in his memory at Dobies Funeral Home. Website (www.dobiesfuneralhome.com)

Dear Tamara & children, I know this is
a very sad occasion. So sorry I can not be there, but certainly am in my heart. I remember Chuck as the handsome little boy, sweet, oodles of fun. My folks had little hill in their front yard, so we took him & his brother & sister over to sled ride, oodles of times down this small hill.Your fun times, holidays, Birth days, will keep him in your memory for ever & ever. God Bless you all. The memories will get you thru these tough times. Oodles of love to you all.

To Tammy, Jonathon and Chelsea – I’m so sorry to hear of Chuck’s passing. I remember when he met Tammy. We had some fun times back in the day! I considered Charley B. a very good friend. He was always fun to be around with and we had some great times together. Going back to our school days we made some fun memories. I’m so sorry I hadn’t talked to him in such a long time. Chuck always had a way to make me laugh. I knew once he met Tammy and started his family he would be a dedicated husband and dad. That’s what mattered most to him! Rest In Peace my friend!!

Chuck will be missed by many, but his spirit will be remembered forever.
We’re all better off having had Chuck as a friend.

May Chuck’s memory be both a source of strength and a blessing to everyone who knew him. If there was always one person that could be counted upon to have a smile on his face and be a friend to everyone it was Chuck. His smile was infectious and it’s the first thing I remember about him. If I had stayed in the Warren area I have no doubt that we would have been great friends because he was just that type of person. I am so sorry to learn of his passing. I am sure as Bob Rich wrote – that we are all better off having had him as a friend in our lives.
