Irene Kuhn (nee Irene Caroline Strong) 94, passed away on October 19, 2022. She was born on April 4, 1928.  She was from East Hampton, NY where she grew up and loved the outdoors, biking, and the ocean.  She graduated from East Hampton HS in 1946, Beaver College in Arcadia, PA in 1950, and completed her Master’s degree at C.W. Post University on Long Island.  She worked for 30 years at the Department of Social Services on Long Island.

She has left behind her loving husband Larry Kuhn, her son William Gallagher and daughter-in-law Linda Gallagher, grandchildren Joshua Gallagher, Charity Miller and her husband Michael, Abel Gallagher, Liberty Gallagher, and Jamie Gallagher, and great-grandchildren Cameron and Chloe Miller.

She is preceded in her death by her first husband, John James Gallagher (1981), her second husband Albert Graham (2010), son John J Gallagher (2017), and son Timothy S Gallagher (2021).

Irene lived a full and wonderful life serving the Lord.  She became a born-again Christian at age 22.  She taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, and played piano.  She has been involved in several churches after permanently moving to Florida.  Most notably she was instrumental in starting the Food Pantry at the First Baptist Church of Hudson, Florida which now serves hundreds of people each month in the Hudson area.

She also loved to travel and enjoy the great outdoors.  She has visited many foreign countries as well as much of the U.S including many National Parks.  She will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends.

We are so sorry to hear about Aunt Irene. She was a lovely lady and a wonderful aunt and we will miss her! Unfortunately we cannot make the service tommorow due to a previous commitment. Our sincere condolences to all of Irene’s family. She was truly a beautiful person and will undoubtedly be missed by many. Our prayers continue for her and all her family.
