Larry John Dafoe

June 03, 1957~October 27, 2022
In the early morning of October 28th, Larry Dafoe passed peacefully into the arms of his Heavenly Father, surrounded by the love of his family, after a long battle with cancer.
Born June 3, 1957 to the late Melvin J. and Shirley (Brown) Dafoe in Pontiac, Michigan. He spent the last 36 years in Holiday, FL.
Larry lived simply and loved richly. He was loyal, kind, and generous with his time, his help, and his overflowing tool chests. He opened his home and heart to anyone that had need of a place to stay or a hot meal. Larry was a talented tradesman, able to turn forgotten or unwanted things into treasures, giving them new life. He loved NASCAR, motorcycles, and the outdoors — especially the ocean.
Larry was fiercely proud of his family and loved them to a fault. Even as his health was failing, he would muster up the strength and stamina to keep up with his grandkids, who he would spoil rotten. His innate sense of joy and humor brought so much happiness to friends and family alike.
Larry is survived by his wife and soulmate of 38 years, Dana (Horton) Dafoe, and their children: Jack, Jody, Jon Richling (Veronica), Jeff Richling (Sarah), Joshua, and Katie Smith (Joe). He was a loving grandfather to 11 grandchildren and one great-grandson.
He leaves siblings David Dafoe (Becky) and Donna Brown (Doug), as well as nieces and nephews, and extended family and friends that he loved dearly.
The family is following Larry’s wishes to be cremated.
