Mark Christopher Valente, beloved son of Daniel and Elizabeth Valente, formerly of Queensbury, New York, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, November 24th, 2022, in Dunedin, Florida.
Mark was born on April 12th, 1972. He was a graduate of Queensbury High School and received his bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of South Florida. Mark was a true entrepreneur; he founded and ran successful businesses in both the construction and produce industries, as well as made many friends and memories. Mark was a diligent and hard worker. Mark was an innovator and fiercely independent in his quest for success.
Mark cared deeply for those with whom he surrounded himself. Mark was someone who you could rely on or would be there if you needed someone to talk to. Mark was skilled at the well-placed surprise phone call; he had an infectious laugh and was adept in the art of conversation, no matter the topic – though he sure did have favorites. Mark was compassionate towards all living things, including his two cats Samson and Chubby. Lastly, Mark cared deeply for his niece and nephews, just as they do for him. He will be missed on game day and when he called to chat on the phone. We all have many fond memories of Mark, our uncle, brother, friend, and son. While he is no longer here with us, his memory and the memories we all made with him will live on in our hearts. Our hearts break over our loss and he will be missed most by those who looked up to him.
The family will be holding a private service. In lieu of flowers, please donate to St. Jude’s.
“Shed a tear cause I’m missing you / I’m still alright to smile / I think about you every day now / Was a time when I wasn’t sure / But you set my mind at ease / There is no doubt you’re in my heart now” – Axl Rose

I honestly can’t believe this is true. We just talked right before Thanksgiving. And every day before that. I’m gonna miss you buddy, you have given me the best advice every time, and you were the most honest and easy going person this world can offer. Rest easy, my friend.

I remember saying Hi to him and his mom right before Thanksgiving, while he was walking with his mom on my street, so pre-occupied I was with my menu I was going to make Thanksgiving day, I wish I stayed to talk longer. Cherish every presious moment on God’s great earth. My condolances. This is so sad and tragic
