Anthony “Tony” Degatano, a True Gentleman, went home to heaven on January 27th, 2023, at the age of 99.

Anthony was born to Margaret Rocco-Degatano and Albert Degatano on December 23rd, 1923, in Roselle Park, New Jersey, as the oldest of four.

Anthony met his wife, Leonora Malta, on December 4th, 1942, at the Dreamland Roller Skating Arena in Newark, New Jersey. They were engaged February 14th, 1944, and married on March 3rd, 1945. They had two children, Anthony T. and Margaret. Leonora, his Sweetheart, passed away on May 14th, 2020, after 75 years of marriage.

While in the Navy, Anthony served on the USS Pine Island from 1944 to 1945, in the Gunnery Division.

Anthony retired after 40 years as a Tool and Die Maker from Carpenter Technology in Union, New Jersey, and moved to Holiday, Florida, with his wife where he enjoyed making new friends and volunteering with the Knights of Columbus at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Anthony was a Life Member of the Knights of Columbus counsels #3310 and #6476.

Anthony is survived by his daughter Margaret Degatano-Fischer; sister Patricia Degatano-Grippo; and grandson David Degatano.
