Shaquonna was born on July 1, 1975, in St. Petersburg, FL. She attended Paul B. Stephens ESC until graduation. She lived and worked in various locations, but always stayed close to her family. She was passionate about Special Olympics and supported them for years. As a teen, while with the Smith family, Shaquonna enjoyed going to Walt Disney World, Busch Gardens and many other theme parks and trips.
Shaquonna was a Baptist and a member of Mt. Hermon Missionary Baptist Church in Tarpon Springs, Florida since her youth. She was a very active serving on the Women’s Ministry and a choir member. She also was a member of various church organizations. Shaquonna had an infectiousness smile and would light up room; she genuinely loved her family and many friends.
Shaquonna was preceded in death by her grandfather, Leroy Harris Fowler, Sr. of St. Petersburg, FL, grandmother, Lois Mae Mulberry of St. Petersburg, FL, and her uncle Leroy Harris Fowler, Jr. of Tampa, FL. She departed this life on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at AdventHealth North Pinellas Hospital in Tarpon Springs. Shaquonna was an organ donor, her passing and gift of life will help others live.
Shaquonna leaves behind to cherish precious memories, her beautiful daughter, Veronica Lois Niama Fowler of Port Richey, FL, father, Canary Long (Annette) of St. Petersburg, FL, mother, Veronica Fowler of St. Petersburg, FL, brothers, Anquante’ Fowler (Felicia), of Port Richey, FL, Deyante’ Fowler of St. Petersburg, FL, Tony and Torry Farley of Tarpon Springs, FL, Carey Long and Cornelius Long both of St. Petersburg, FL, sisters, Cayla Long, Allison Long, Carlitha Long, and Deborah Macon all of St. Petersburg, FL, aunts, Tanya Terrell (Frank) of Apollo Beach, FL, and Penny Fowler of St. Petersburg, FL, uncles, Craig Fowler of Holiday, FL and Brian Fowler of Tarpon Springs, FL. Her adopted family who loved her dearly. Rev. Milton Smith (Dad)(Lineta) of Dunedin, FL, Ms. Latrell Smith (Mom) of New Port Richey, FL, Monique Smith (Sister) of New Port Richey, FL and Chereese Smith (Sister) of Port Richey, FL, best friend, Edwin “Eddie” Bannis as well as a host of great aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
