Doris Cerio was born in Brooklyn, New York on May 2, 1934. She passed away on February 8, 2023, in Tarpon Springs, Florida. She was 88 years old. She was preceded in death by her husband Manny. They were married for 56 ½ years.

She is survived by her children Elisa and Daniel, and her granddog Baxter. She worked as a secretary in New York City. She was a ward clerk at Anclote Manor Psychiatric Hospital until it closed, and a sales clerk in the sponge docks.

She volunteered for years with her husband Manny with Meals on Wheels in Tarpon Springs.

She sang for the Metropolitan Opera Company and the Babylon Chorale in New York. She sang with the St. Ignatius Choir and with the Woman’s Club of Tarpon Springs. She acted for years with the New Port Richey Suncoast Theater and Tarpon Springs Performing Arts Center.

She loved to travel and has been all over the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and Europe.

On Friday, February 17, 2023, the viewing will be at Thomas B. Dobies Funeral Homes in Tarpon Springs, Florida, from 9:00AM-10:45AM with the Service at St. Ignatius of Antioch Roman Catholic Church in Tarpon Springs, Florida, at 11:00AM.
