John Walter Williams, Jr. was born May 17, 1934, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to John Walter Williams, Sr. and Beatrice C. Whelan. He was their only child and they preceded him in death. John departed this life at his home in Tarpon Springs, Florida on November 9, 2018.
John was educated in the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Wilmington, Delaware Public School System. He joined the United States Navy in December 1951 and served through December 1955; servicing in the Korean War. John was honorably discharged. He was employed with General Motors as an electrician for at least 40-years where he retired. He was a member of the Church of the Reconciler in Clearwater, Florida.
John was married to Brenda F. (Bonner) Peoples who also preceded him in death on August 12, 2006. He was the step-father of three children: David (Monica) Peoples of Pensacola, Florida; Tiffany Peoples of Tampa, Florida and Eric (Jessica) Peoples of Holiday, Florida. He also leaves to cherish his memories his loving grandchildren, Jasmine, Brandon, Damon, and Jordan Peoples, along with Gabriella Jamison and Brenda Peoples and a great-grandchild Wyatt Peoples; four sister-in-laws and four brother-in-laws and a host of life long friends. John also leaves a life long friend of 50 years Jay (Joe) Newman of Ocala, Florida and Clay Bonner of Gary, Indiana.
Memorial Service at 6:00pm, on Friday, November 23, 2018 at Dobies Funeral Home & Crematory, 701 E. Tarpon Avenue, Tarpon Springs, FL 34689; Minister Stanley Butts, III, officiating and Kenneth Bonner, Eulogy. Private cremation at a later date and remains will be dispersed in the Gulf of Mexico as John requested.
