Lee Charles Chissus

Born in Pontiac, Michigan on December 29th, 1955, passed away after a long struggle with heart & kidney disease on Friday, April 28th, 2023 in Largo, Florida

He was preceded in death by his parents Ray & Elaine Chissus; as well as his brother Leslie Chissus.  He is survived by his wife Cindy (Bush) Chissus; brother Lerick Chissus of Mount Clemens Michigan; Lerick’s wife Beverly Chissus; niece Lisa Chissus; nephew Lerick Chissus and his wife Jennifer; grandniece Lorelai; and grandnephew Lerick.

Lee was a graduate of Wayne State University in Detroit Michigan with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Lee moved with his family to Florida 1982 and quickly started a sprinkler business with his brother Leslie.  Soon after, they  started High Point Well Drilling and remained a strong leader in the well drilling business within Tampa Bay for over 45 years.  Lee and his brother Leslie converted several buses into motor coaches.  They also created their own equipment for the well drilling business.

Lee had a deep passionate for play!  He was into dune buggies, motorcycles, boats, jet skis, and snow mobiles.   He was always tinkering in the barn making something, fixing something, or sometimes breaking something. The 1954 Willys he restored, and a 1966 Chevrolet Truck (still in progress) are just two examples of his extraordinary abilities.

A memorial service will be held at Dobies Funeral Home, 701 E. Tarpon Avenue, Tarpon Spring, FL 34689 on Saturday, May 13th, from 2-4 pm.   Following the service will be a family gathering at The Thirsty Marlin, 1023 Florida Avenue, Palm Harbor, FL 34683.

Debbie & family.
I am deeply saddened by the passing of Lee. You never know how one person can touch another. Lee was that kind of man. He really wanted to help others. He was dependable and “A Man Of His Word” In fact, our whole neighborhood used him. A great loss for us all.
