Ruth Larkin Creamer left this world on her own time on June 3, 2023. She was preceded in passing by her lifelong husband, Walter Creamer, and her two eldest sons, Walter Creamer Jr. (Terry) and Michael Creamer. She leaves the following to walk in her path: her two sons, Tim Creamer (and wife, Kellye Creamer) and David Creamer (and wife, Cherie Creamer); her 4 grandchildren Ashley Wilson (husband, Lonnie Wilson), Victoria Creamer (husband, Erik Eberhardt), Terry Creamer, Kieley Woodall (husband, Vaughn Woodall); her great grandchildren Natalie Creamer-Hand, Zach Creamer, Addisyn Woodall, Oliver Wilson and Finley Woodall.
Ruth wore many names throughout her life – wife, mother, aunt, Mimi, friend, disciple. But her true name reflected the essence of her soul the most. In the Bible, the Book of Ruth carries two major themes – commitment and loyalty. Ruth epitomized both truly and fully.
She was committed to her husband, family and friends, and most of all Jesus. Her commitment was unwavering as she experienced some of life’s cruelest moments, transcending darkness and instead always looking to the light of this life God created for us earthside. She was fearless, and in turn created a fearlessness in us, to trust the Lord and his will always.
Loyalty to her husband was easy for Ruth. She first fell in love with Walt in high school, and together they set a standard for a loving marriage that the entire family had the pleasure of reaching towards. She followed her heart with integrity and faith, traits that trickled throughout her entire family tree due to her instilled righteousness.
It’s not easy to sum this woman up in a short note. To be honest, she doesn’t even really feel gone. This was one of the most energetic, joyous humans you ever had the pleasure of meeting. Most folks reading this will agree that Ruth had an electrifying effect on them. And that could be why she still feels so present in our lives, because she’s imprinted a spark of herself in all of us. It was her blessed gift, to leave those around her feeling happier, fuller, sillier.
While she lived a long and incredibly fulfilled life, Ruth has still left us craving more. More laughs, more jokes, more stories, more coffee talks, just more… Heaven has somehow become an even greater destination knowing you’ll be there to greet us in eternity.
Please whistle for us when you wake, Ruth.
