Richard K. Williams, 82, of Tarpon Springs, Florida, passed away on June 12th, 2023. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Pamela Williams; children Richard Williams Jr. (Carla) and Dawn Brinson; stepson Troy Kasting (Angie) ; 7 grandchildren; as well as brother Gary Williams (Rosemarie) and several nieces and nephews.
He was proceeded in death by brothers Tommy Williams, Jimmy Williams, sister Lynne Burghardt and stepson John Kasting.
Richard was born in Waterbury Ct. – moved with his family to Florida in 1948. He was raised in Largo, Fl., attending Largo schools. At 17 Richard enlisted and spent 3 years in the US Army. In 1960 he and his brother Jimmy started Williams Nursery in Largo later moving to Odessa. After Williams Nursery closed around 2002/2003 Richard & his son carried on their tradition and started a new venture called Henley Rd. Tree Farm which they operated for several more years. Richard was a landscape contractor for 46+ years working for many local builders as well as homeowners. His footprints are all over this area. (basically made a living with a shovel)
After devoting most of his life to work he finally decided to spend a few months golfing and living a life of leisure which he clearly deserved! But, after spending about 6 months on the fairways, he quickly realized that he was going to need more to do than golf…… came home one day and said he was going to drive a school bus! So, he took a job with the Pinellas County Schools – driving a school bus and as an ESE / para professional for special needs students – retiring after 7 years.
Richard loved the simple things in life, sitting on the front porch, road trips, golfing, going out to eat, shopping /malling, and spending time with friends and family. He loved life – his glass was always half full! He was a Christian and he loved the Lord. He will be dearly missed!

Dad and I dearly love Richard (and Pam). Dad said yesterday that Richard was not only his son-in-law, but he was also a great friend. Same for me. We have so many wonderful memories of precious time spent together with Pam and Richard. It is incredibly hard to believe Richard is not going to be with us here on earth. Richard’s strong Christian faith and his love for the Lord were such a blessing to me. His faith inspired me to want to become a better Christian and want to get to know the Lord even more than I thought I did. That is where the real blessing comes in for Pam and Dad and me . . . knowing that Richard is with the Lord. We are also very happy that he is back in the sweet company of Johnny and Pam’s and my dear, sweet Mom (Dad’s soulmate for almost 51 years).
Rest in peace dear Richard. We love you forever and always. And, we pray that God will bless and console Pam and give her the strength. support and wisdom she will need to carry on and mourn his loss. We love Pam so much. Sister, daughter and best friend.

Will always remember being on the driving range working on different things with you there coaching me! Always enjoyed the rounds of golf with you and the socializing afterwards. Golf at Tarpon will never be the same without you.
