John Campbell Milnor of Seven Springs, Florida died June 17, 2023 in New Port Richey. He was 91. Born in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, June 12, 1932, he was the son of Sidney and Jean Milnor. He grew up there, attended Lycoming College and graduated from Lehigh University, class of 1956. Following service in the U.S. Navy he began his career as a civil engineer. He was a sales engineer for Armco Steel Drainage Products Division and later was employed as a program manager in the State of Maryland’s program to administer waste water improvement grants to municipalities.
Throughout his career and afterwards John was active in local chapters of the American Society of Civil Engineers, the National Society of Professional Engineers in New York, Maryland, and Florida. After retiring, he resided in the Seven Springs Villas Golf and Country Club and served on various Home Owners’ Association boards and committees and generously applied his energy and engineering expertise to numerous projects for the community. He was famous for his exceptional attention to detail.
A skillful and enthusiastic golfer, John played around the world, most recently for a week in Ireland in August last year at 90 years of age. He was also a steadfast alumnus, attending school and college reunions every year. John was a devoted follower of sports, amateur and professional, as well as a lover of classical music and a member of the Florida Orchestra.
In addition to his parents John was pre-deceased by his sister Ann Milnor of Dallas, Texas. He was attentive to his large circle of friends and to his cousins, and their children and grandchildren. He will be remembered for his complete personal integrity and thoughtful generosity. John will be missed.
We thank the staff of HCA Florida Trinity Hospital and Gulfside Hospice for their care of John following a fall May 31st.
Services will be private. There will be a celebration of John’s life at the Seven Springs Country Club in the future at a date to be announced. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his name may be directed to your favorite charity or to the Music Library of the Florida Orchestra.

John was a dear friend and companion on multiple dates to see his favorite events, the Florida Orchestra! He was also one of our longest standing alumni contributers for the Lehigh Alumni Club of Tampa. During our rivalry Telecast parties he would break out the old Lehigh whistle and his Lehigh sweater and lead us in one of the original Lehigh cheers, taking him back to his days as a Lehigh Cheerleader!
John loved ice cream, loved travel, loved being social with anyone and everyone!
He has been a light in my life and a reminder that you’re never to old to live your best life!
You will be missed dearly my friend!
Love Always! ❤️

We are learning today, June 12, 2024 that you are no longer with us John.
So sorry and sad. We just called you to wish you a happy birthday and the message indicated that your number was not in service. We immediately checked the internet. Our deepest sympathies to your family and friends. My mom and I met John back in August 2015 in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada. We quickly became friends and he came to visit us a few times in New Brunswick, Canada to meet our family and play some golf. He was a fine gentleman with lots of enjoyable stories to share. God bless and rest in peace John from your friends Huguette LeBlanc and Nadine Cormier of Grand Barachois, New Brunswick, Canada.
