Patricia “Pat” Anne Cusick Rigney, 90, of Port Richey, Florida, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Sunday June 18, 2023, peacefully passing in the early morning hours at her home.

Born in Groveland, Illinois, January 2, 1933, daughter to Benjamin F. Cusick and Lucille Peve.  She is survived by her children Debra (Jimmie) George of New Port Richey, FL; Darcy Sutherland of Palm Springs, California; Ronald C. (Margaret) Ackley of Aulander, North Carolina; Catherine (Ken) Budinger of Cincinnati, Ohio; Ann Shreve Jeffers (Chris Szabo) of Port Richey, Florida; Randolph W. (Liliana) Rigney III of Orangeburg, South Carolina; and a Brother Jack E. Cusick of Morton, Illinois; 17 wonderful grandchildren; 34 terrific great-grandchildren; 20 amazing second-great grandchildren; 3 marvelous third-great grandchildren. Her Father Benjamin, stepmother Verna Henry and Mother Lucille, stepfather Walter Schroen, husband Randolph W. Rigney II, and 2 grandchildren Jodi and Christopher preceded her in death.

She met her husband Randy on June 18,1972, after the wedding of  her oldest daughter and then they married the following year on April 26.  During her marriage of almost 50 years, they enjoyed square dancing, camping/traveling in their motor home throughout the United States, a Red Cross volunteer, assisting Randy on emergency calls and actively serving in the churches they were members of.

Pats Christian faith was an essential part of her life. She was a loving, outgoing, encourager; and never met an individual that was a stranger, only friends she just met. She was active in all churches she attended making friends, church family she valued throughout her life.  She enjoyed singing in the choir and did special solo songs.

In Winterville, Georgia, She was a member of 25 years at the local Cornerstone Church of God, helping in different ministries, working with the homeless, working in the food pantry, loved to sing in the choir and do special solos. This faith, and Gods love was a heritage passed on to her children, grandchildren and all that knew her.

In 2016 when they return to Port Richey, Florida due to health issues, she became a member of Light of the World Tabernacle, where she started a women’s group,” Ladies Home Journey”. The, Ladies would gather together for lunch, fellowship, encouragement, to pray with one another, play games, read stories, jokes and laugh…a time of refreshing.  Her favorite scriptures “ …the joy of the Lord is your strength.( Neh 8:10); I can do all things through him who strengthens me. (Phil 4:13)

Pat always wore hats; they were her “trademark”.  She begun wearing hats when her husband Randy went to work on the 9-11-01 Twin Towers collapse with the Red Cross. While in Georgia she started a chapter with the Red Hat Society in February 2004 and was “Queen Pat” of the “Scarlet O’ Hatters” 2004-2014.

Some of Pats work history started as early as 1951-1953. She began as a clerk/bookkeeper in her teens, 1954-1962 Cosmetology schooling. And a owner of her home beauty salon, Sold Sarah Coventry/Avon/Tupperware, insurance agent, realtor, receptionist, data entry /mag card operator, elementary teacher in New Port Richey Christian School; 1976-1980 owner /operator of Power Plant Solar Equipment, to name a few.  Some of her hobbies she enjoyed was Singing in Sweet Adeline’s, oil paintings, writing poems, shopping, doll collector, sewing, taking classes in ceramics, cake decorating, various classes in cooking, taking flying lesson to Pilot a Cessna150 aircraft that they owned, an airport tour guide, and continued cutting hair. She enjoyed playing Farkel with family and friends, taking care of her faithful dog of 12 years “Trixie”, and cherished the moments being able to spend time via Face time with her Brother Jack and Grandchildren that did not live close by, and visits from her church family.

Patricia MEMORIAL SERVICE WILL BE ON WEDNESDAY, JULY 12, 2023 at 6:00PM at LIGHT OF THE WORLD TABERNACLE, 8114 Leo Kidd Ave, Port Richey, FL, Pastor Leonard Lord will officiate the service. Light refreshments will be served after the service.

Private Interment is at a later date.
