April 25, 1938~September 24, 2023

Patricia Hans Mulieri, 85, of Spring Hill, entered into rest on Sunday, September 24th, 2023. Patricia was a former Pasco County Commissioner.

Former Pasco County Commissioner, Dr. Pat Mulieri, served Pasco County and her constituents for over 20 years. Pat was also a college professor at Pasco-Hernando State College where she taught English. Many of her students were also county employees.

During her time as commissioner, the county experienced unprecedented growth and Pat played a key role in helping to bring businesses, industry and employment to the county while simultaneously protecting and preserving environmentally sensitive lands by creating parks and open spaces.

Pat was also an advocate for the less fortunate. She established the mobile medical unit which serves the homeless and uninsured. She was active in her area’s elderly nutrition program, parks, libraries and helped provide as many amenities as possible for her district.

Lastly, Pat was an animal lover who advocated for and brought about many improvements to the county shelter that helped shelter animals find forever homes. Several of her own pets came from the shelter.

The list of Pat’s accomplishments through the years are far too long to list here. She was the ultimate public servant, and her hard work and dedication will be her legacy that will benefit generations to come.

She will be missed by all who knew her.

Patricia was born on April 25th, 1938 in Brooklyn, New York. The daughter of the late Jacob and Mary Evelyn Hans.

She is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, James Mulieri of Spring Hill; daughter Caprice and her husband Ken Frosh of The Villages; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and predeceased by daughter Susan.

I worked with Commissioner Mulieri for a number of years. She was such a personality and served the County very well. Her sense of humor and dedication made it a pleasure to assist her; and her kindness and fun loving personality made it easy to be her Friend out of the work setting. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Sending my Prayers and Condolences to Jimmy, Caprice, and the Family.

Pat was a wonderful Pasco County Commissioner, dedicated animal advocate and a truly amazing friend. I wish I had the opportunity to meet her sooner so we could have been friends longer. I first contacted Pat by phone back in 2011 or 2012 to request her service as our commissioner, (which she handled immediately and professionally). The following year I met her while we were both at the Pasco County animal shelter. Over the years we became friends. In 2021 my husband and I traveled to Ohio and we remained here. I stayed in touch with Pat by phone and text, but when I did not receive a reply from her for several months, I became concerned. I was heartbroken when I later learned of her passing. The world lost a truly amazing woman. She will be very deeply missed. My thoughts and prayers are with family and everyone who loved her. Thank you! Pat, for all your years of service as commissioner, for all the animals you helped save, and for your wonderful friendship. Until we meet again…
