Richard Curtis Wilson (70) of Port Richey, FL, passed away suddenly of natural causes at home on October 12, 2023.
Richard, fondly known as “Rick” , was Born to Elvin and Wilma (Bowman) Wilson in Lexington, MO, February 18, 1953.
Rick is survived by his wife of 29 years Shelly. His 6 children: Angela Allen, Tammy Garrett (John Dillon) Shawnett Wilson, Nikki (Jody) Custer, Nick (Jada) Candler and Richard B. Wilson. 15 Grandchildren: Coby, Curtis, Brittany, Steven, Jennifer, Brian, Necole, Erika, Emalee, Breanna, Christian, Paxton, Maddy, Brayden and Kaydence. 7 Great-grandchildren: Isobel, Cyvauodis, Boston, Bryce, Maliyah, Jaxton and Princeton. Siblings: Sharon (Bob) Wyse, Harold (Beverly) Wilson, Lois (Ed) Davis and Lana Cobb, Brother-In-Law Darren Eller and Sister-In-Law Angie (Ian) Throckmorton, and an Abundance of nephews and nieces.
Rick was preceded in death by his parents Elvin “Oscar” Wilson, Wilma (Bowman) Wilson, Sister JoAnn, Brother-In-Law Robert Cobb. 2 Son-In-Laws, Thomas Allen and Ricky Lee Garrett, 2 beloved nephews Bobby Gene Wyse and David Wyse.
Rick was raised in Richmond, MO, where his favorite things to do was hunting, and fishing at Sunshine lake, driving in demolition derbys, later living the majority of his life in Liberty, Missouri, working for Guys foods, Kitty Klover, Metro “Coors” distributors (Big Sky) and before retiring as a successful Business owner.
If you knew Rick, he enjoyed life to the fullest, and was always there to help friends and family. Rick was known for his legendary fish frys and hog roast with his beloved friends, boating at Smithville lake, and he loved his Nascar.
But he is mostly remembered for being the absolute best husband, father, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather! He loved his children and family so much. He will be greatly missed. Rick got to fulfill his life long dream of living the rest of his life in Florida.
Rick was an organ donor and was able to save 6-12 lives.
A celebration “PARTY” of life will be held Saturday November 25th from 3-7 at Heritage Hall 117 W. Kansas St., Liberty, Missouri, 64068.
Byob for the party, Flowers can be delivered at 2 pm, or in Lieu of flowers, you may bring a donation.

Rick I’ve known you for a many years . First as my beer driver and my friend . It was a joy to be around you telling your stories and making everyone laugh 😂 Then our kids got to know you and Connie and went to school with each other.,I now you enjoyed your life to the fullest . You loved your kids with all your heart. We Liberty people from back in the day missed you when you moved to Florida. But who could blame you , no snow ! well my friend we will see each-other someday , have a beer with all our old buddies and save a dance for me.. love you 🥰 Karen

I truly hope that Wilson family is doing well after the death of their Father, whom was quite a character in his own right. May God be with them through the ordeal that they are about to go through, in Jesuses name AMEN!!!

Deepest sympathies. I went to high school with Rick. He may not have been the best student, but he was always entertaining.
