Claire Mirisola

Claire Mirisola, age 93, of New Port Richey, Florida and Farragut, Tennessee passed away peacefully at home in the early afternoon of December 7, 2023 surrounded by her family. Claire was a long time member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Haines City, Florida as well as a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Farragut, TN when she was staying in Tennessee. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother (affectionately known as Grammy).
Claire was born December 27, 1929 in Sumerville, MA, the daughter of George and Amanda (Racicot) Dubois. Claire married Joseph Peter Mirisola on June 25, 1950 and lived in the Boston area until the entire family, which at the time included their 5 children; Peter, Linda, Susan, Carol, and Joe moved to the Orlando, FL around 1970. Claire retired from working at the Lancaster Elementary School cafeteria in 1990. In the early 1990’s Joseph and Claire moved to Swiss Golf and Tennis retirement community in Winter Haven, FL.
Claire was one of those special people that would do anything for you. She would always drop whatever she was doing to help those who were in need. She had a deep Catholic faith and prayed constantly for her family and friends. She had a devotion to the Blessed Mother and prayed the Rosary for years several times a day. If you knew Claire then you can know that she would have you in her daily rosary prayer intentions. Claire loved people and everyone that knew her was instantly a close friend. By knowing Claire you knew God’s love which was reflected through her.
Claire was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Claire was preceded in death by her parents, George and Amanda (Racicot) Dubois; her husband Joseph; her 3 brothers Larry, Tommy, and Eddie Dubois; son Peter Mirisola and daughter Carol (Mirisola) Wyandt. She is survived by her children Linda (Greg) Larson, Susan (Glenn) Anderson, and Joe Mirisola; along with son-in-law Bruce (Carol) Wyandt and daughter-in-law Cindy (Peter) Mirisola along with thirteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren as well as one great-great-grandchild. In addition to many relatives on both Claire’s and her husband, Joseph’s, sides of their families.
Claire will be dearly and deeply missed by her family and friends along with her special nephew and his wife, Steve and Patty Dubois and their family along with her very close and special friend Sis from St. Ann’s Catholic Church.
The family will receive friends Saturday, December 9, 2023 from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. at the Dobie Funeral Home Tarpon Springs Chapel. A Mass will be held immediately after the receiving of friends at 01:30 to 02:20 p.m. at St. Ignatius of Antioch Catholic Church in Tarpon Springs. Burial will follow at a later date at the Florida National Veteran’s Cemetery at Bushnell, FL.
