Susan Carol Rand, 78, of New Port Richey, Florida, formerly of Kansas City, Kansas, and Gladstone, Missouri, passed away on December 29, 2023 at Elevated Estates, New Port Richey, Florida.
Susan was born on June 28, 1945, to Ralph & Pearl (Garrison) Archer. She grew up in Mountain Grove, Missouri. She married Max C. Rand on October 15, 1971.
During her life Susan worked as a waitress, owned her own beauty shop and for several years was employed at the Kansas City Star. Until her health prevented her from doing so, she attended First Assembly of God, New Port Richey, Florida.
She is survived by a son, Stephen (Rhonda) Adamson of Dalzell, Illinois; and a daughter Richele (Chad) Green of New Port Richey, Florida; granddaughters Tiffany (Travis) Raube of Utica, Illinois, Elizabeth Adamson of Princeton, Illinois, and Alayna Adamson of Missouri; as well as eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son Hal; and a daughter Marla.
A graveside service will be held at a later date at Hillcrest Cemetery, Mountain Grove, Missouri.
Arrangements are through Thomas B. Dobies Funeral Home, New Port Richey, FL.

I have so many memories of special times we spent together. Lots of laughter and some adventures over the years. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. My sincere condolences to Richele, Steve, and family. Love is forever, and she is smiling down from Heaven. Rest in peace, Sue.
