Dolores Mazurek, age 84, of Tarpon Springs, FL, passed away January 12, 2024. She was born and spent her childhood in Lodi, NJ to Frank and Francis Wodzienski. She graduated from the Katherine Gibbs School New York in 1959 and started her career as an administrative assistant.

Dolores met her husband, Jim Mazurek, while he was attending Stevens Institute of Technology, they married soon after his graduation and started their married life in Boston, Massachusetts. They were married for 53 years until his death in 2014. They had 2 children and raised them in Sudbury, MA and Trumbull, CT. Years filled with an abundance of family vacations, travel, school activities, sports, cooking and family milestones. 

Dolores continued her career as the Executive Assistant to the President at Leggette, Brashears, and Graham, an environmental services company in Connecticut. She continued there for 24 years until her retirement in 2000. She and Jim retired to Bluffton, SC for what she called “major relaxation”. Those years were filled with family, golf, grandkids, travel and friends.

Her last few years were spent close to family in Tarpon Springs, FL where she loved going on the boat, spending time with family, golfing and meeting her great grandchildren. Dolores is predeceased by her husband, James R. Mazurek and her brother Frank Wodzienski. She is survived by her daughter Tracy Saboe (Bernie) of Tarpon Springs, her son Christian Mazurek (Maureen) of Morristown, NJ, as well as three grandchildren, Brianne Crandell (Charles), Evan Saboe (Paige) and Lauren Mazurek and four great grandchildren Genevieve and Josephine Crandell, and Ella Mae and Piper Lynn Saboe. She is also survived by her sister Marie Belton of Metuchen, NJ and two nieces, Stacey Larson and Kara Moorman.

Dolores was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and GiGi and will be greatly missed by family and friends alike.

Service will be at Dobies Funeral Home on Friday, January 19th at 3pm. Friends are invited to a reception following the funeral from 4:00 -6:30pm at Tarpon Turtle Waterfront Grill, 1513 Lake Tarpon Ave, Tarpon Springs, Florida

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association on their Tribute page in Dolores’ name.

I have many good memories with Dolores and most recently in Florida as she so enjoy being captain of the boat! Kind and sharp women .
