Emma Lee Hart (71) of Hudson, Florida, died peacefully with her beloved husband, Kerry Hart, at her side on February 14, 2024, after a valiant fight against cancer. Emma was a beautiful soul who touched the lives of so many people. Emma taught those around her unconditional love, a spirit of selfless giving, and kindness that spread to those around her. She was a pillar to her family and friends, holding them up during difficult times. One of Emma’s favorite activities was thrifting. She could go to a thrift store and find one valuable item that proved to be a diamond in the rough. It was so fun to watch her scavenge through thrift items and get excited when she found that perfect item. What Emma valued most were the people in her life. She just loved with a purity that’s so rare. Emma and Kerry shared a deep love of music. Emma just loved listening to Kerry sing to her. The Tampa area allowed Emma and Kerry to attend concerts of some of her favorite artists. She loved getting all dressed up; most notable was her beautiful hair. Emma was an animal lover who surrounded herself with dogs. She loved her dogs like children and would show them off to everyone. Emma’s last wish was that the following songs be played in her memory: Go Rest High, Believe, and Lead Me Home.
Emma grew up in the Ithaca area, working at Emerson, Cargill Salt, Ithaca Gun, and Cornell University. She moved to Florida to retire from the harsh NY winters.
Emma is survived by her mother, Doramea Cole; husband, Kerry Hart; her sons, George (Buck) LaBar and Wallace Tiffany-LaBar; her grandchildren, Kaleb LaBar, Lillee and John Mason-Lefevre, Deserae (Tiffany) Green, David Tiffany, Bridget Shaver; 8 siblings: Meddie Goyette Jr., Patricia Borgeson, Judy Goyette, Babbie Hart, Kelley Goyette, Karen Stabler, Michelle Austin, Leslie Moore and multiple great-grandchildren, and cousins.
