I worked with Jerry at Florida Power/Progress Energy (now Duke Energy). I’ll always remember he always had a big smile on his face whenever I saw him. I did not realize that he was with the power company for so many years.

I’m sorry I had not seen Jerry very often after I left Florida Power. He was a pleasure to work with.

Saying prayers for the family. RIP Jerry.

Condolences to the Faustino family; Jerry was always a pleasure to be around and willing to help the young engineers. He was always smiling and knew how to make people around him feel comfortable. I enjoyed working with him and was glad to have known him.

Wow what can I say? Jerry was an amazing man, and I wasn’t even aware that he was a veteran, a Mason, nor a martial arts practitioner! My father Steve and Jerry were great friends and when my Dad passed away in 2013, Jerry took me under his wing and helped me get MacDriller back up and going to serve Duke Energy and its ratepayers. For about 4 years before the pandemic I would carve out a day before Christmas and head to Seven Springs to bring he and Kelley a holiday gift and spend a morning with him going over upcoming projects and just catching up. We never had enough time to finish chatting, we always swapped “war stories” of projects, he was genuinely interested and proud of the career I was building – just like he was stepping in for my Dad. One of those years we kept going through lunch and up to around 2pm and we both had to call it quits because we had so much work pile up! It was a great tradition that I looked forward to for months. He was not a client, he was a friend to me, my father, and our family and I greatly regret getting so busy from the pandemic onward to keep in touch. I actually thought about tracking him down last Christmas just to catch up and am sad I did not. Just like my Dad, he didn’t want anyone to know his health was failing. Jerry would stop and hear my concerns for projects that just weren’t right, and we would find solutions and put them into play, as an engineer I know he loved the feeling of being creative. He was instrumental to my family’s success, as we had my parents, my family, and my brother’s family all working on projects he managed. I owe Jerry so much gratitude for being an ethical man, a funny man, and a great client. He will be missed. I regret I will be out of state Friday for his internment but I will pay my respects as soon as possible. Thank you Jerry for everything you’ve done for us, for FPC/PGN/Duke, and for the public! I do hope you and my Dad are hanging out right now, I know he truly admired you.

I am sorry to hear of Jerry’s passing. I believe he was one of my friends in the Army when we both served in Stratcom at Schofield Barracks in Hawaii 1966 to 1968. He was a warm individual and always pleasant. Jerry was also one of my classmates at Officer Candidate School at Fort Gordon, Georgia in the early part of 1966, We both resigned from that school and were sent to Hawaii to serve out our enlistments. Also I believe he was not drafted but joined the Army because he had an “RA” before his serial number which means Regular Army. But I am not sure of some of these facts because it was 58 years ago! I really liked Jerry and hope that your lives can adjust to his passing. I wish he and I had remained in contact after the Army. Please let me know if your “Jerry”is the Jerry Faustino I am remembering. I am Fred James, Bellingham, WA, phone 360-734-5078, e-mail .
