Marvin Joseph Gordon Jr. of Palm Harbor, Florida, passed away on August 12th, 2024 at the age of 86. Marvin, known as Joe by his family and friends, was born on January 2nd, 1938, in Wadsworth, Ohio, and moved to St. Petersburg, Florida, in 1956.

Joe was a devoted family man who placed his beloved wife Joyce first every day of his life. Joe and Joyce were married in 1958 and had four children: Laura Leveroos (nee Gordon), who was married to John Leveroos (deceased); Marvin Joseph Gordon III (deceased), who was married to Monique Gordon (nee Duguay); Patrick Gordon, who is presently engaged to marry Beth Lesser; and Jennifer Delany (nee Gordon), who is married to Pat Delany.

Joe and Joyce’s legacy continues through their ten grandchildren: Bradley Gordon, Taylor Leveroos, Scott Gordon (deceased), Joy Parisi (nee Leveroos) who is married to Matt Parisi, Bryce Leveroos, Ashley Delany, Patrick Delany, Samuel Gordon, Laura Delany, Cole Pruiett, and Henry Gordon.

Joe received his Master’s degree in Engineering from the University of South Florida. For over fifty years, Joe’s career in Chemicals and Plastics Engineering focused on Quality Control Processes. An author of academic engineering textbooks, his passion for this field continued into retirement.

Joe served his country as a lieutenant in the United States Navy Construction Battalion for twenty-five years. An avid reader of military and history, he also enjoyed building model airplanes and ships as a hobby.

Joe and Joyce traveled extensively together and were especially fond of cruising the world. They loved providing family vacations for their children and grandchildren at their timeshares,.

A highly principled man who was always there for his family, Joe will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.
