It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Evangeline “Angie” Zissimopulos Huddleston (nee Megaloudis), a beloved matriarch, who peacefully left this world at the age of 95 on Saturday October 26, 2024. A devoted member of the Greek Orthodox Church, Angie’s unwavering faith was the cornerstone of her life, guiding her through every joy and challenge.

Survived by her loving son, Guy, her sister Helen Cantonis Campbell (nee Megaloudis), her sister-in-law Stella Megaloudis, her daughters-in-law Sara and Esther, cherished grandchildren, Nick (Jessica), Leah (Gary), and Evan (Sarah) Zissimopulos, great grandchildren George and Luke, and treasured nieces and nephews, Angie leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth.  Her beloved son George, brother Demos, and husbands Nikitas and Ray predeceased her.

Angie’s life was a testament to the importance of family and friendship. She cherished every moment spent with her loved ones, brightening their days with her vibrant spirit and infectious laugh. Her home was a sanctuary of comfort, often filled with the aroma of her delicious Greek foods and baked goods, which delighted all who she knew.

A wonderful mother, yiayia, theia, and friend, Angie had an extraordinary ability to make everyone feel needed and loved.  It brought her immense happiness to spend time with her friends and family, whether in person or through a phone call. Her compassion and generosity touched the lives of many, forging relationships that ensure her memory will be eternal.

In celebrating Angie’s life, we remember her joyful heart, her affinity for throwing a party, and her delectable Greek cooking that brought people together to share love. She will be profoundly missed and forever remembered in our hearts as a source of comfort and a guiding light.

The family invites all who knew her to join in honoring her memory, on Saturday November 2, 2024, with details provided at https://dobiesfuneralhome.com/obituary/evangeline-angie-huddleston/.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Suncoast Hospice Center of North Pinellas in her honor.  https://suncoasthospicefoundation.org/donations2/

As Angie’s neighbor for many years, my parents John and Mary Nalepa, enjoyed her and her two young boys being next door. We enjoyed her wonderful cooking and so much of her many talents as well as her incredibly warm and friendly home. My parents have since passed away but we all have been fortunate to have known Angie for such a long time. She was an important part of Tarpon Springs’ history and will be lovingly remembered.
