Dave was a longtime friend growing up in Dayton.
He was known as Gomez to his close friends . He played football (Defensive back) and ran track (The Hurdles) at Meadowdale High School in Dayton.
During his college summers ,Gomez worked as a lifeguard at the Jewish Center in Dayton.
When I would see him ,it would always be an enjoyable visit with heartfelt moments
He had an interesting personality and sense of humor and actually right now he probably would be critiquing my condolence . Dave was such a good guy and will be missed

David C. was more than our family attorney. He was my very dear friend. We played golf together every Sunday for many years at Cypress Run. The golf was fun but the chatter and laughs were even better. Dave was just an all around good human being. I’m so glad he was part of my life. Otis Davis

I played golf with Dave for many years at Cypress Run on Saturday mornings. He always had a great sense of humor (his dog’s name was Happy). Not only a good friend, he also was my corporation’s attorney, and my family’s attorney. He will be forever missed. Our heartfelt condolences to Kathie and the family!

Dear Kathie,

Bill and I want to express our sincere sympathy during this very sad time. I understand that you cared for him at home which is the greatest gift anyone can give to a loved one.
I did want to say though that our memories of Dave and you are all happy ones. We really had some great times together whether it was going to Gator Growl or just going out to dinner.

David’s expertise in probate matters was well known amongst the Bar, the well-satisfied clients, and the Judges. What was less known was his high intellect, his kind concern for his clients and friends and his witty character. David cherished his family, especially his devoted wife.

We will miss him very much. Many years ago David became known in our immediate family
as ” Diamond Dave.” We were going to Germany for the first time and we asked if he would like us to purchase a Rolex for him. Dave replied that he would indeed like a
Rolex watch from Europe with “some bling i.e diamonds.”

We will always miss Dave.

I grew up with Dave. His family lived around the corner from mine on Barbana Lane in Dayton, Ohio. We were good friends (though I never knew his middle name was Charles until now). Dave was a good guy and a very good athlete. He was first string varsity football as a sophomore. Somewhere around 7th grade a bunch of us used to hang around a neighborhood barbershop. It was there that Bill the Barber nicknamed him Gomez. Nobody knew why but the name stuck. During our junior year in high school Dave became very serious about his studies and that stuck too. He went on to the University of Cincinnati, law school at Dayton and a successful career as a lawyer in Florida. I’m sorry to hear of Dave’s passing and I will miss him. RIP, Gomez.
