September 21, 1961~December 20, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Donna Lee Erwine Stecher on Friday, December 20, 2024.  Born on September 21, 1961, in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, Donna was predeceased by her loving son, Daniel Welzel and her parents, Anna Mae (Nancy) and Wilbur (Joe) Erwine; her sister, Nancy Fiorentino; her brother, William (Bill) Erwine;

Donna is survived by her devoted husband, Andrew Stecher; her daughter Amanda Salazar, and son-in-law, Argenis, along with their two sons, Lucas and Nicolas, stepdaughters, Andrea and Shannon, and grandson Parker; She is also survived by her siblings: Cathy Steidler (Ron), Barbara Rose, Linda Epting (Wayne), and Joey Erwine (Lisa), all of New Jersey. Donna cherished her many nieces and nephews, thanking them for their long-term prayers. A special thank you to Jessie Palmer who assisted every day as her healthcare advocate.

After graduating from Deptford High School, Donna pursued a dedicated career in the healthcare industry, serving others as an office manager in numerous practices. She and her husband, Andy, lived in Pittsgrove, New Jersey, for over 20 years before relocating to Dunedin, Florida. In Florida, Donna worked with Advent Healthcare, providing exceptional care to those in need and quickly becoming a beloved member of the community. Donna formed a unique spiritual connection with her coworkers at Advent Health which spoke of daily.

Donna appreciated life’s simple pleasures: enjoying a day playing cards at the VFW or bingo at the American Legion, taking overnight casino trips with her sisters, and cooking and hosting family gatherings. She especially treasured trips to Lancaster to see Bible on Stage and spending time with her family and friends. Above all, Donna cherished the time spent with her daughter, Amanda, and her grandsons, Lucas and Nicolas. She also deeply valued her lifelong friends, Linda (Pin), Lori, Debi, Karen, Teddy, and Sue, making friends wherever she went.

A Celebration of Life will be held in both Dunedin and the Deptford area, with dates to be announced.

Donna lived her life with peace and grace, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Rest in peace, Donna. We will all miss you more than words can express.

It is still hard for me to believe that this is about my mom. You’ve had to fight so many things in your life, it doesn’t surprise me you went out fighting. I can’t stop thinking about you, and I won’t let your memory die. I love you, the boys love you, we miss you already.
