Viktor Ivanchenko

August 11, 1959~December 26, 2024
Viktor Ivanchenko passed away on December 26, 2024 at 9:14 am. He was a wonderful person who lived his life in the right way, being always kind and generous to people… He was from Ukraine….  He was born on August 11th, 1959 in Kirovohrad Region in the small village of Rozdil in a family of farmers.
Father – Vasyl Ivanchenko was a tractor driver
Mother – Olena Dudnyk was a cow milker
He graduated from school and started serving the army. Years of service in the army – 1977 – 1979, in 1981, may 24, he got married. Wife – Oksana Sokor (they made 43 years together) From the beautiful marriage they had two children – son Roman and daughter Kateryna. While married, Victor studied and worked as a mining mechanic at the “Granite” quarry. Then, he became the chief mechanic of the same enterprise. He graduated and qualified as a mechanic of mining and agricultural machinery.
Victor loved life very much, loved his family, loved people… He was a soul between people at the parties. It was always fun with him. He always considered his wife, children, and grandchildren to be the meaning of his life. He had 5 grandchildren – Yaroslav, Olena, Solomiia , Lucas, Myroslava. He warmed everyone with his love and care.
On a clear piece of land in Ukraine, he built a two story brick house so that there would be enough space for the whole family. He planted a big garden with a different variety of apples, also many different types of grapes.. He built 50 beehives by himself and had tons of honey. Loved to treat everyone with honey telling stories how useful and healthy it is.
Viktor wanted to live life so much, but a terrible cancer disease did not let him stay in this world to do more, like he was planning to do. He fought so hard until his last breath. It’s very sad and hard to understand that he is not with us anymore, because he meant so much to us. We all love him, miss him so much and will always remember him as a bright and dearest person for us…No one will ever replace a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Forever is a long time to miss someone, especially when their absence leaves such a lasting mark on your heart. They say time heals all wounds, but Viktor’s absence creates such deep scars in our hearts, that time moving forward only seems to deepen our longing.. To miss him forever is to keep a part of him alive within us, to hold onto who he was and what he meant to us.. As life moves forward we learn to carry him with us, not only in our thoughts, but in who we are.. Forever is a long time, but it is also a testament to the ever lasting power of love… Until we meet again…
We express our great gratitude to the USA and all the good people of this country for their kindness, comprehensive assistance in the treatment, providing everything necessary for the citizen of Ukraine Viktor Ivanchenko.
Eternal memory..
Rest and piece…
Your family with love

May you rest in peace. You went to heaven too young and had many more things to accomplish. You will be missed by everyone who knew you. After my dad passed away in 2023, I was devastated and saddened. But your kindness and generosity helped me through my difficult times. You became like a father to me. You will always be remembered in our hearts. Heaven has another angel.

Dear grandpa,
You were the best anyone could every ask for. Everyone loved you. You were kind to everyone, no matter who they were. You will dearly be missed. There is no one in this entire world like you. I had so much fun with you, playing chess, going on walks, sleeping with you, just spending time with you in general. I promise you that I will learn the Ukrainian language correctly, get good grades, and everything you ever wanted. We trust God to take care of you. We love you very much. You could fix anything, like that cup I gave you, that says “ grandpa can fix anything “. And it’s true, because you can. But unfortunately, it’s time for you to rest, I know you were in pain, but you won’t be now, though, we will still miss you very much. I would come to you every night and say “goodnight grandpa”, ( in Ukrainian ) and you would say, “ goodnight Solomiia”. ( in Ukrainian) And when I would bring you your cup of ether water or tea or something else, you would say, “ thank you Solomiia, let God give you health, and everything you want in life ( in Ukrainian) and I would say “ you to” ( in Ukrainian). You did everything for us. You sat on the couch, and you hammered that peace of wood and you glued it, even though you could barely breathe. You said, “ I’ll come back from the hospital, and fix it for Solomiia’s bed.” ( in Ukrainian). Even though you never did. Please forgive me for everything I did wrong to you. We had so many good memories, and I will forever keep them. I will never forget you. I will always remember you. And I want you to remember that. We will some day go to Ukraine and visit when the war is over. And I know you took care of me, played with me, and always stayed with me the most when I was younger and now. I know that you will always be with us forever and always. And you will always be looking down at us from above. So rest in peace grandpa, we love you.

My life divided into “before” and “after”.. I lost my rock, my sun, my wing… I have never ever met any better person than my father. He was an example of how to live life right way. He was strong, fair, sweet and never lied no matter what. He was not only the best dad, but incredible husband, amazing grandpa and a wonderful friend. He was a real family man, nothing he loved more than his family and his country (Ukraine). He was a real patriot of Ukraine and Ukrainain language. He made mom happiest woman in the world, making her dreams come true and that always made my heart warm, seeing their eternal love to each other. He met my mom when she was 16 and in a year later they got married. He asked her what’s her dream and she answered: “I want a big house, two kids (boy and girl) and to plant apple garden around the house “ They made 43 years together and my lovely dad made my mom dreams come true. He taught me those things, what you can’t find in any book.. He was smart.. loved history and could fix anything in a house. All his 5 grandchildren loved him to the moon and back. He could build anything, loving bees and nature he built 50 beehives by himself and had tons of the best taste honey. My dad loved to live life, to communicate with people and make jokes… The world became so gloomy without him for hundreds people.. It happened I was the one who was chosen by God to spend the last year and half with my dad in USA, far from our motherland where he was going to get back and did not make 5 days to fly home. He was fighting cancer disease, getting hard treatment and doing everything possible to stay with us. We were going through a such a difficult time together…I had only that time with my father after long 6 years of being away… I am thankful to God for every minute what I spent with my dad, it’s memorable and priceless time. I miss him every day, my eyes still look for him everywhere even though my brain understands he is in peace… My heart is bleeding from pain and every night I pray to see him in my dreams… He made only 65 years of life, but he was wise enough to give any advice and always made sense. My wonderful dad physically left me, but he lives in every cell of my body, inside of my soul, never leaving my heart.

You know dad, if love could build the bridge, I’d cross it just to see you again. I love you so much…
P.S. I miss you every second of my life💔

With all the love in my heart, I say this. I love you, grandpa, i appreciated everything that you have done. I loved staying by your side when you were working, I loved learning new things, I loved laughing with you. For a period of time there was emptiness in me because I did not see you. When you came, I got to show you all the new things I did, like you showed me. I wish I never got used to being without you, I wish I took advantage of our time together with you. I have to continue without you and it’s so strange. It feels like you’d be behind the curtains of your makeshift room, it expect the door of our backyard to be open for you to breathe. I can’t show you what I continued to work on, I can’t show you how much talent I am developing from you as my main motivation. I hope in some shape or form, you’d still look down and be proud of me when I’m doubtful. I love you so much, you are the best grandpa.
Your granddaughter, Lena.
