Werner S. Saradin, 77, of New Port Richey, Florida, passed away peacefully, though unexpectedly, at his home on December 29, 2024. Werner was born in Hoort, Germany in 1947 and emigrated to the United States with his parents and two sisters in 1952. He grew up in Salamanca NY, where he made many lasting friendships that still exist today. During his high school years Werner was a talented baseball player, getting scouted right out of school. However, he was then drafted into the Army where he did one tour in Vietnam. After serving in the Army Werner married and had two children. He continued to enjoy baseball, playing for the Salamanca Merchants team and also playing fast-pitch softball for the Salamanca-Olean league. In 1979 Werner moved his young family to Florida, landing in New Port Richey, where he would spend the rest of his life. He remarried, and as he got older some of his favorite pastimes were playing golf and restoring and racing street cars-his favorite being the GTO. In his later years he spent half of the year in Florida and half of the year in New York, where he was an active member of the VFW. He loved his family, vintage cars, and animals, especially dogs.
He is survived by his wife Diane Saradin of New Port Richey, Florida; daughter Debbie (Billy) McKinney of New Port Richey, Florida; son Christopher (Mia) Saradin of Tavares, Florida; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; stepsons Michael A. Remisiewicz and David C. Remisiewicz; as well as siblings Fred Saradin of Salamanca, New York, Mary Schaefer Amherst of New York, Gabe Painter of Jamestown, New York, and Ann Mannino of Sarasota, Florida.

I’m so sorry for the Saradin’s loss of their dear brother/husband! In the past I had enjoyed waiting on Werner and his wife at Elkdale Country Club. My husband enjoyed speaking with him about their car collections!
