Marjorie Kay Arnold, 82, of Odessa, Florida, passed away on January 3rd, 2025. She is survived by her husband of 62 years; Palmer G. Arnold; sons Palmer G. Arnold Jr. and Christopher L. Arnold; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and her sister Mary Ann Guy. Kay was raised in Roswell, NM and was the youngest of 5 children. She graduated in 1961 from Roswell Senior High School where she met her future husband, Palmer. As it turned out, Palmer’s sister, Judy, had been Kay’s best friend since Junior high school. Kay and Palmer were married in 1962 and moved to Las Cruces, NM while Palmer attended NMSU and received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) and Kay received a PHT…(putting hubby thru). After Palmer’s commissioning into the Air Force, Kay left her job at the Telephone Co. to move to San Antonio, Tx. where Palmer attended Air Force pilot training. Upon Palmer’s graduation from pilot training in April 1968; Kay delivered their first son, Palmer Jr. and they moved to Dover, Delaware. Thus, Kay began raising a family with an often-absentee pilot husband, which including one year in Vietnam. Seven moves later and 12 years; their second son Christopher was born at Scott AFB, Il. After 24 years and 17 moves as an Air Force wife; Palmer retired from the Air Force and they moved to Washington, D.C. where Palmer worked at NIH. After 10 years in D.C, they moved to Tampa as Palmer went to work at MacDill, AFB. Kay loved all the places she lived but Tampa was special. She had special friends and they took annual trips with them like to Las Vegas and New Orleans. Kay’s biggest joy was her sons, her grandchildren and her family who came along.
Our treasure, Kay, has left earth and now lives in Heaven. We miss her very much.
