Doreen Merker (nee Applequist), 90, of New Port Richey, passed away March 13, 2025. She was born in Chicago and lived in Mt. Prospect, IL for many years with her husband Al and sons Steve, Mike, and Mark before moving to New Port Richey in 1990.
Doreen is survived by her son Michael (Kathleen) Merker, and grandchildren Jennifer Cone, Amanda (Jose) Flores, and Peter Merker (Chandler Kruckenberg), and great grandchildren KaLee(Jesse), Austin, Luis, Alaina, Noah, Kevin and Blakelyn. She was preceded in death by her husband Aloysius, and sons Steve and Mark.
Services will be private.

Have many memories of your mom (aunt Doreen). Spent many a night around aunt Lorraine’s (mom’s) table talking and laughing. She definitely had a funny side. She was probably the aunt I was closest to when I was young.
I am sorry for your loss but she lived a long, good life. Longevity in this family.
