Len Gerbin of Holiday, Florida passed away peacefully surrounded by his wife and daughters at Madison Point Care Center in New Port Richey, Florida on June 20, 2025.  Born on November 4, 1934 in Monessen, Pennsylvania, Len was the youngest of the six children of the late Nick and Kathryn Barbir Gerbin.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years Dawn Ann, daughters Maureen Gerbin and Eileen Sarris (John), and grandchildren Matthew and Nicole.

Len graduated from California State Teachers College (Pennsylvania) with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education in August 1956. He received a Master of Science Degree in Eduction from Westminster College in January 1961.

Upon graduation from California State Teachers College, he worked at a steel mill in Monessen until he joined the Army in July 1957. He was stationed in Heidelberg, Germany and served until he was Honorably Discharged with the rank of Specialist 4 in June 1959.

He worked in the Butler Area School District in Butler Pennsylvania for 27 years, first as a Special Education teacher and later as a high school guidance counselor.  He retired in 1986.

When he moved to 5 acres of property in Chicora, Pennsylvania, he bought a horse and colt, ducks, and a cat. He enjoyed planting a large vegetable garden, building decorative wooden fences and rock gardens, throwing horseshoes, snowmobiling, and playing ping pong and pool in the basement game room. He enjoyed going to the high school football games and watching his daughters perform in the marching band.

His hobbies included woodworking, weaving rugs on a loom that he built, stained glass making, building an airplane with his neighbor and walking at the park.

Following a funeral mass at St. Ingatius of Antioch Roman Catholic Church in Tarpon Springs, internment will be at Trinity Memorial Gardens.
