In Loving Memory of Cheryl A. Herring

March 4, 1947 – July 12, 2025

Cheryl A. Herring, 78, of Hudson, Florida, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2025. Born in Peekskill, New York. Cheryl was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, and loyal friend. Her gentle spirit and kind heart touched the lives of all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband, Clifford Herring, who would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this November, her children, Lisa Herring Mercier (Brett) and Clifford Herring, Jr. (Amanda); her grandchildren, Julia Sherman (Conor), Olivia Phillips, and Wyatt Herring; and her step-granddaughter, Amanda Schmidt.

Cheryl is also survived by her sister, Diane Pelaccio, and her extended family, including her sister-in-law Pamela Lass (Terry), brother-in-law Bruce Herring (Arlene), and beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony and Barbara Pelaccio, and her in-laws, James and Eleanor Herring.

Cheryl adored animals and found deep joy in the companionship of her dogs. She is reunited with her cherished pups, Sadie, Lucy, and Lola, and is survived by her faithful dog Gracie.

She filled her life with love and laughter. Cheryl was always ready for Bingo and her signature drink, a Margarita. She deeply valued her friendships with dear friends across New York, Connecticut, Virginia, and Florida.

At Cheryl’s request, there will be no formal service. The family invites friends and loved ones to honor her memory in their own way—through kindness, laughter, and time spent with those they cherish.

Here’s to Cheryl — may her Bingo cards always be full, and her Margarita glass never be empty.

My heart goes out to the family. I’m glad that I got to see Cheryl at Olivia’s graduation party. She got to be there for Olivia’s high school graduation. I know the pain and heartache that you are feeling but just remember the good times. God will help you get through this and give you peace knowing that she’s with her Lord and Savior.
