Donald “Don” William Brink, Age 82, Passed away peacefully in the evening hours of July 24, 2025, surrounded by family.

He is preceded in death by Gary Brink, Martin “Marty” Brink, and Emma Brink. He is survived by his wife Karen A. Brink; children William (Janet) Brink, Margo (Tony) Murchio; Siblings Michael (Joan) Brink, Jill (Steve) Dolloway, and Colleen Brink; Grandchildren Keari, Ashley, Haley, Nicholas, Megan, Hunter, Zoe, Mickayla and 11 Great-Grandchildren.

Don was born and raised in Ithaca, NY where he attended and graduated from Ithaca High School in 1960. Immediately following graduation, he became a Union Bricklayer. He married his beautiful wife Karen (Merilahti) Brink in 1964 and had 3 children; William, Margo, and Martin.

Don relocated with his wife and kids to New Port Richey, FL in 1974 and obtained a job at the Pasco County School Board which sparked a 33-year career where he later retired from. His love for his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren was extremely evident, he coached PAL baseball and football for his sons, attended countless gymnastics meets and football games and was always there to support the people he loved most.

Don had a great sense of humor. He was always telling funny stories to make his grandchildren and great grandchildren laugh and he was always the life of the party. He had a love for the gulf and boating and was always out on the water with friends and family boating and fishing. His favorite memories were all the weekends he spent at the sandbar with his friends, wife, children and grandchildren and his family would agree that those are their favorite memories with him as well. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and would spend his time in NY hunting and his time in FL fishing on his boat.

Don also loved his dogs over the years but the one that had his heart when he passed was Miss Josie, his beloved rottweiler.

Although he suffered from poor health in his last few years of life, his love for his family never wavered. He never forgot a birthday and always made sure everyone knew how much he loved them. His grandchildren would bring his great-grandchildren to come visit him often and they all knew how much he loved them; he never let them forget it.

When Don passed, he was married to his amazing wife Karen for 61 years. They watched countless FL sunsets together, raised 3 children, had 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Their love for one another was apparent and strong. Don spent every year making sure Karen knew how much she was loved; he was always the best gift giver, never letting a birthday or holiday pass without letting Karen know how special she was to him.

The Celebration of Life will be a private event spent with close friends and family in the home of Don and Karen. Condolences can be sent to the family at Dobies Funeral Home (6616 Congress St, New Port Richey, FL 34653)

Our sincere and deep condolences to Donnie’s family and friends. While I have only heard of Donnie through his sister, Jill, he sounds like he was an amazing man with a wonderful family, and one who lived a very satisfying and love-filled life. Praying for God’s comfort for you all.
