Margaret “Peg” Miller
May 30, 1950 – July 25, 2025
Peg Miller passed away at the age of 75 into the loving arms of Jesus after battling illness. Peg was born in Illinois, to Jack Tillman and Margaret Tillman. She was raised in Chicago along with her older sisters Chrystal and Linda. She loved sports, playing the accordion, and cheering for the White Sox. Peg attended DePaul University in Chicago, earning a Bachelors in Psychology. She earned a Masters in Social Work from Governors State University. She helped countless individuals during her proud career as a social worker. She dedicated 26 years to the DuPage Township Levy Senior Center in Bolingbrook, Illinois as a social worker and program director where she planned fun events for seniors and helped individuals access medical care and social services that improved their quality of life. She was loved by her clients and coworkers.
Peg shared 35 years of loving marriage with Arthur W. Miller, Sr. They enjoyed long road trips across the country together visiting their many friends. Peg loved to travel and especially loved spending time with their six children, fourteen grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Peg loved her retirement years in the warm weather in New Port Richey, Florida where she enjoyed golfing, cards, swimming, and was involved in the Leisure and Entertainment Committee, the Garden Club, and was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church.
Peg is preceded in death by her parents, sister Chrystal Broadfield, brother-in-law Larry Broadfield, and in-laws Arthur and Christine Miller and Emma Miller, as well as her beloved dog Moxie.
Peg is survived by her husband Art and their children: Sara (Todd) Babl ; Jacqueline (Pat) McElroy; Rachel (Kris) Swenson; A. Bill Miller; Chuck (Dawn) Miller; and Nicole (Craig) Babarskas. She could often be heard bragging about her grandchildren and was truly the best grandma anyone could ask for to Morgan and Audrey; Aurelia and Gabe and Alex; Grace, Elise and Owen; JoJo and Will, Tim (Megan) and James; Copelan and Aven. She was excited to be a great-grandma to Maycie. She is also survived by her sister Linda (Larry) Dybis, sisters in law Christine Noble, Fran Edmunds, and Joyce Miller, many nieces, nephews, and countless friends.
Peg was a friend to all she met. She was well known for her perpetual smile and genuine caring personality. She was generous, optimistic, selfless, and kind, always thinking of others and making us all laugh. She will be missed by all.
The family is planning Celebrations of Life in both Florida and Illinois at a later date.

Dan and I were so lucky to see you and Art just a few weeks before your passing. As usual, you were in great form, looked great, your vibrant self, making us feel good just being with you. We will miss you, my sweet friend, like a sister from another mother. Linda and I will pray for you and all your loving family, as well as our Art, who was blessed to have you and bask in your love. We miss you, as we know you are on the other side missing us. As the Greeks say, “May your memory be eternal”.

Peg was one of kind and a great Addition to our pinochle card group, the Seven Springs Garden Club and so many activities at Seven Springs Country Club. She was loved by everyone who knew her and shared in her life. She will be greatly missed here. And as a devout member of St Thomas Aquinas Church, we are sure she has gone on to a new life in heaven. What a pleasure it has been to know her!

Harry and I are so saddened by Peg’s passing. She was a big part of my life and I’ll miss her terribly! She was naturally happy and unafraid to step forward to help anyone. She loved life, and her Catholic faith was very important to her. We’re praying for Art and their family.

I meant Peg as she walked in my room in the hospital in the seventies. I was very sick with severe depression and anxiety acute and chronic. She said would you like my help? After that we embarked on an 11-year Journey to getting well. I believe God brought her to me. Through the years I never stopped thanking her and told her I would forever be grateful. From time to time we spoke through the years. The last time was June 27th. She never mentioned that she was ill. She sure was one of a kind. My deepest condolences to Art and all the kids and her siblings. I mourn with you. Deeply devastated

It’s such a shock to hear of Peg’s passing. I met Peg and Art while living in Florida @ 7 Springs and we had that “midwestern” bond right from the start! Peggy is one of those people that whenever you would hear her name, you would automatically smile 🙂 You could talk to her about anything and everything, never feeling judged or uncomfortable. I’m glad she trusted me to “Moxie – sit” a few times, while they went out of town! My deepest condolences to the Miller family, so very sorry for your loss.

Dear Art and Family,
We were so saddened by Peggy’s passing. She was a big part of our life, and we will miss her terribly! She had a tremendous love of life and thought the world of all of you. She always praised you and your families and was so excited with your accomplishments. She was always sharing pictures of her loving family to us.
We met through our husbands; they were war buddies and served with the 101st Airborne Division, Kingsmen/Lancers Assault Helicopter Company. We instantly shared a bond and love that one cannot describe. Peggy was always there for us, no matter what. Since retiring to Florida, we would often get together and spend the holidays with Art and Peggy as well; that is when they weren’t traveling up north to be with their family. We have many wonderful memories that we will cherish and forever be with us. We are still stunned and can’t imagine our reunions without Peggy. She has left a void.
Rest in Peace, Peggy. You will always hold a special place in our hearts and forever be with us.
All our love and prayers.

So remember the first time I met Peggy. I was a hairdresser and one of my customers who was real shy was with her and when she said she was looking for someone to do her hair Donna looked at her and said you have to go to Debbie and we became such great friends. She was such a joy to be with. I took my first Senior Bus Trip because she planned all of them. So special and will be missed by so many of us. 💙💙💙🙏🙏🙏
