James Terry Durkin III of Palm Harbor, Florida, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2025, at the age of 87. A lifelong Chicago Cubs fan, Jim’s love for the team never wavered throughout his life.
Having special needs, Jim was known for his warm and friendly nature, his love of sports, and his strong work ethic. He took great pride in his long career as a custodian at Vanee Foods in Berkeley, Illinois.
Jim is survived by his beloved brother, John S. Durkin (Valerie), and his brother-in-law, Clarence “Bud” Fox. He will also be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Lodema Durkin; his parents, James Terry Durkin Jr. and Ruth I. Durkin (née Hall); and his sisters, Elaine Fox and Barbara Sipek (George).
