Ann J. Hudak

Ann J. Hudak

June 23, 1933~September 05, 2025

Ann Jane Hudak (Cleary), 92, of New Port Richey Florida, went home to be with her Savior Jesus on September 5th, 2025. The family and close friends affectionately called her Meme.

The world became brighter on June 23rd, 1933, when Ann was born in Jersey City, New Jersey, as the youngest of four siblings.  It was in New Jersey that she met and married Gene Hudak, the love of her life.  Ann and Gene made a wonderful life together. Having three daughters, they moved from New Jersey to Florida in 1975. As true entrepreneurs through and through, they established H&H Auto Repair. A family business in Hudson Florida where Poppy worked under the hood turning wrenches and fixes cars all while Meme ran the office, handled the books, greeting customers, answering phones and scheduling appointments. A later business adventure, with her daughters, Ann opened Hands of Praise Salon in New Port Richey Florida. Her husband Gene Hudak preceded her in death in 2003, after being married for 48 years. Although Gene proceeded her in death, the love they shared lasted the rest of her life.

Out of all of her milestones, the most important was the decision she made in 1976 to accept Jesus as her Savior. That decision shaped the rest of her life. Her faith was the foundation of who she was. She guided her family and friends with the love and devotion of Christ.

Ann spent her days doing the things she loved such as spending time with the Lord in prayer and reading Scripture. As well as cooking and challenging herself with crosswords and puzzles. Ann never missed an opportunity to minister to family, friends, or even doctors in the hospital. Ann was a member of Crosspoint Church in New Port Richey where she served in many roles over the years.

Ann was survived by her daughters, Diane Baccile, Donna Potts, Doreen Martin, son Patrick Martin, grandchildren, Joseph Potts (Caz), Rachael Dunklin (Matt), Sheryl Iskowitz (Frank), Michael Baccile (Carilee), Elisha Martin, Hannah Martin, great grandchildren, Miley, Link, Lacey, Ella, Luca, Caspian.

Ann was also survived by her sister-in-law Carole Sharkey (Hudak).

Ann was a faithful servant of the Lord and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her memory will live on in the traditions she created, the sweet moments shared over her cheesecake, the joy of a Rummy game well played, and the countless lives she touched.

As Psalm 91 reminds us:

“Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty… He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”

In honor of her life, a service will be held on October 11th, 2025 at 4:00 PM (ET), at Dobies Funeral Home located at 8825 Old County Road 54, New Port Richey, FL 34663. Friends and family are invited to gather, share stories, and celebrate the love she gave so freely. A link will also be available for those wishing to attend virtually.

We love and miss you Meme. You were one of a kind. A loving mom and grandmother. So sweet and caring. Our only consolation is that she is with Jesus.
