In Loving Memory of George Tirikos

With profound sadness, the family of George Tirikos announces his passing on Saturday, September 13, 2025. George was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend whose generosity, humor, and tireless work ethic touched countless lives.

Born to Nicholas and Fatima Tirikos, George grew up in Boston, Massachusetts, where his loyalty to family and love for his hometown teams first took root. A devoted Boston sports fan—especially of the Patriots—he carried that passion and pride wherever life took him.

During high school, George’s family moved to Tarpon Springs, Florida, where he later met the love of his life, Irene, who he was married to for 26 years, George was the proud father of Nicholas, Themelina, and Fatima, his pride, joy, and entire world. Nothing made him happier than having his children, their cousins, and their friends gathered around. Seeing them together brought him pure joy.

George will be remembered for his big heart, infectious smile, and boundless generosity—always ready with a joke and the first to give the shirt off his back. From his early days working in the family restaurant to the years he owned Cheap Tree Service, George embodied a remarkable work ethic. He taught his children how to throw a football, fish, and ride a bike, but more importantly how to respect others, stand tall, and never accept disrespect.

Above all, George’s life was defined by love for his family. He carried their burdens as his own and celebrated every joy as if it were his own. His warmth and devotion will be forever remembered by all who were blessed to know him.

George is survived by Irene, his children Nicholas, Themelina (Francesco), and Fatima, all of Tarpon Springs; his father Nickolas (Irina); his mother Fatima; his brothers Jimmy (Dawn) and Nickolas; his in-laws Pete (Thelma); his brother-in-law Nick (Valadou); his godson Panagiotis, goddaughter Eleni, and many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 19, at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Tarpon Springs. The family will receive friends for a viewing at 10:00 a.m., followed by the funeral at 11:00 a.m.

May his memory be eternal.

Georgie what can I saw we came from the sports town. Patriots, Bruins, Celtics and Red Sox we were born into it my friend. I still have the blue beannie patriot bear you got me when you found out I was having my first baby. You understood the assignment. We are born into that nation. Times on Cape Cod jumping off Bass River Bridge. I remember your first date with Irene and how excited you were to get married. Robby and I had great memories with you from Strokers to Fred Howard to his birthday party.Your family was everything to you and everyone is absolutely 💯 you would take your shirt off to help anyone. I just saw you and your mom a couple months ago at Walmart hugged you both and told you both how much I missed and loved you. Until we me again my friend now you can rest easy 🙏😢💔😇

I only knew George for a short while but it felt like eternity. He was a wonderful man father husband and friend. I will always remember his kindness and his laughter. His life was cut way too short. The Lord has him tuck away in his arms keeping him safe and warm. I Love you George thank you for the wonderful memories and for doing a great job on cutting my trees 🤗😢
