Alan K Wolff, age 90, of Hudson, Florida, passed away at his home on Wednesday, November 5th, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love and laughter.
Alan was born in northern Manhattan to Irving Wolff and Catherine (née Zimmerman) Wolff, and grew up in Hartford, Connecticut. He was predeceased by his first wife, Barbara Deignan Wolff (Harvard, MA).
Alan is survived by his beloved wife Barbara (Purnell) Wolff, of Hudson, Florida, with whom he shared 27 wonderful years of marriage. He also leaves behind his beloved daughter, Karen Wolff, of Boston, Massachusetts.
Alan was a graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where he earned a bachelor’s degree in metallurgical engineering. He received his master’s degree from Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) in Mechanical Engineering. He enjoyed a satisfying career as a metallurgical and mechanical researcher and consultant.
Alan lived a happy, vibrant, and full life. His lifelong passion was golfing. He was a longtime member of the prestigious International Golf Course in Bolton, MA. He was a top-level golfer and was happy to retire to Florida, where he played year-round.
He was known for his intellect, his humor and kindness, and being a kid-magnet for all his nieces and nephews.
There will be a celebration reception (TBD) for Alan’s life in the spring in New England.

Karen and Barbara I enjoyed many wonderful days of Als humor and exceptional golf. We actually grew old together on the links and could see our youth pass behind us with every new week. Great memories with one of the nicest person ever set foot on this earth. May he rest in peace and know he is greatly missed by his many friends in the Hudson area.
