James (Jim) R. Flowers, 64 of New Port Richey passed away December 6th, 2025, at North Bay hospital unexpectedly. He was born in Canton, Ohio, the son of Virginia (Ginger) Smith Flowers and the late Dale E. Flowers. Jim grew up in Lubeck, WV where he graduated in 1979 from Parkersburg South High School, Parkersburg WV and was a graduate of The Ohio State University in Columbus, OH with a degree in Computer Business Information Systems. He had worked in Columbus OH, for many years then relocated to Florida where he worked for A.C. Neilson in Largo, FL then Home Depot #0238, New Port Richey, where he made many friends.  Jim was a compassionate, caring person and all who spoke of him said he would go out of his way to help others.  He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in New Port Richey. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Mary-Anne York Flowers of New Port Richey; His son, Lucas M. Flowers of New Orleans. His mother, Virginia (Ginger) Flowers of Lubeck, WV and his sister Cindy Flowers of Peoria, AZ and much Family in West Virginia & Ohio. He was preceded in death by his father, Dale E. Flowers, his paternal grandparents, Ernest J. & Verta Flowers & maternal grandparents Harold R. & Bertha Smith. Memorial service will be Friday, Dec 12 at 11:00am at the First United Methodist Church at 5901 Indiana Ave, New Port Richey, FL 34652  with Pastor Inhong Lee officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to UMCOR or Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program.
