Donna McNeil Recore, 65, passed away peacefully at her home under the care of Accent Care Hospice on Friday, December 12th, 2025, in Hudson, Florida, with her sister Bonnie and close friends by her side.
Born on August 27th 1960, daughter of Harry and Frances McNeil, she grew up in Mooers Forks, New York, and attended Northeastern Clinton Central School where she received her GED, as well as studied at the University of Phoenix. Donna lived a life of kindness and dedication. Donna had 30 years of hard work and dedication to her job at Nabisco as a sales representative. No one enjoyed planting flowers and sharing pictures of her beautiful gardens more than she did. She never had children, just her labs, which were treated like royalty, and her nieces and nephews who all had a special place in her heart.
Donna is survived by her only sister Bonnie (Bill) Welch of Hudson, Florida; four brothers Mike (Sheryl) McNeil of Ellenburg Depot, New York, Tim McNeil, Randy McNeil, and Rick McNeil, all of Plattsburgh, New York; stepsons Chad (Kim) Recore of Peru, New York, and Craig Recore of Clearwater, Florida. She is also survived by her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Jim (Shirley) Recore, Donald (Dawn) Recore, Andrew (Starr) Recore and Barb Recore; two step-grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Herbert A. Recore Jr; her parents Harry and Frances McNeil; and her canine companions Barney and Matilda.
Per Donna’s wishes, cremation has taken place and her ashes will be scattered in the Gulf as well as at her husband’s gravesite.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Special thanks to her caregivers Bonnie, Tabby and Gail, who helped keep her home.
Donations in her memory to American Cancer Society or Alzheimers Association.

I am so saddened to hear of Donna’s passing. We enjoyed sharing photos of our flower gardens and I was always put to shame when I saw what a green thumb she had. May she rest in peace and be reunited with her beloved Herb.

Jim and I are so sorry for your loss Bonnie. She was a great person and I enjoyed being around her. Jim was always ready for when he would see her to play Euchre. He misses her so much. May the Lord above keep you in his thoughts and may she rest in peace and not suffer any more. Our prayers are with you and the family.
