With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved father, Peter Papadopoulos, who left this world peacefully on Saturday morning in Dunedin, Florida.

Born in Washington, DC, Peter lived a full and vibrant life marked by hard work, laughter, and a deep love for family. He was a successful commercial and residential real-estate broker, a restaurant owner, and an entrepreneur who took great pride in everything he built. Larger than life, Peter was known for his sharp wit, generous heart, and the joy he brought into every room.

He loved the feeling of freedom—the wind in his hair on his Harley or cruising in his convertible—and lived life with passion, confidence, and style.

He was extremely proud of his Greek heritage and was a deeply active and devoted member of the Greek community, where his warmth, humor, and presence were felt by many.

Peter was deeply loved and will be forever missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him and laughing alongside him.

He now reunites with his beloved wife, Patty, his mother and father, his uncle, and so many others who have been dancing in heavenly Greek circles for years.

He is survived by his three children, Basile, Andi, and Alex, and his cherished grandchildren, Vaso and Hollis. He is also survived by his younger sister, Georgia Coffey, and her children, his cousin Dino, and an army of love and support through extended family and dear friends who will carry his memory forward.

A funeral/memorial service to honor and celebrate Peter’s life will be held Friday, February 13 at 3:00 PM at Dobie’s Funeral Home in Tarpon Springs.

Thank you for your love, prayers, and support during this difficult time.
Memory eternal, Dad. 💙🙏

This guy was always outgoing, funny and had a great attitude towards everything, anytime you interacted with him. You and Patty were my parents best friends and like a second dad and mom to me. I am forever grateful and will never forget that. Godspeed Pete – “It’s never goodbye, it’s just ’till next time”

Basile, Andy, and Alex,I am so sorry of your loss. They say we Greeks have a words for every thing, but I do not think there is a word of any language that can fully express my sorrow and the legacy of your father! His shining personality will live on in our hearts! I am grateful to have been a member of our family! The Greek philosopher Socrates said long ago, “All men’s souls are immortal, but the souls of the righteous are immortal and divine!” Basile, Andy and Alex, I remember what your grandfather’s mother had told me long ago! “There is no death, Dino! People die only when we forget them! If we can remember them, they will be with us always’”
