Lawrence Young Douglas Jr, “L.D.”, 80, of Palm Harbor, passed away on April 28th, 2026. He graduated from Tarpon High and attended St. Petersburg College and Montreat University.

He was an Army Veteran serving from 1965 – 1968 where he was stationed in Germany. After his service he managed two family farms, the family plantation “Cotton Hall” in Yemassee, South Carolina for 10 years, and the Highlands of Innisbrook in Palm Harbor.

He was an A-player golfer and tennis enthusiast. He adored his family and friends, especially his best fur-friend Enoch.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years Patricia; stepson Jesse; brother Donald; sister Eileen; and his beloved nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his mother Sara Sims-Douglas; father Lawrence Sr; brother Bruce; nephew James; and stepson Kyle Locke.

Larry was “simply the best” husband, father, doggy-dad and best friend.

I was truly blessed to have you as my husband & my best friend for almost 40 years. You were the kindest, gentlest most loving person on the planet. You cared for so many. Your legacy will live on forever in the recipients from Lifelinks transplant facility.
