Sandra Culberson, 83, of Hudson, Florida, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2026. Born on May 31, 1942, in Presque Isle, Maine to the late Lloyd and J. Kathryn “Kay” (Ranney), Brown. Sandra built a life defined by warmth, adventure, and an unshakeable commitment to living on her own terms where “she never gave one Toyota” what anyone thought about it.
Sandra graduated from Lasell Junior College in 1962. On August 17, 1963, she married the love of her life, Richard Culberson. Together they built a family and a home in Norristown, Pennsylvania. Sandra worked for many years as a Podiatry Medical Assistant. When retirement came, she and Richard made their way to Hudson, Florida — sunshine, Long Island ice teas, and slower roads. Richard preceded her in death in November 2010, but the life they built together never left her.
In the years that followed, Sandra found a steadfast companion in Skeeter King, who had the good fortune — and the stamina — to keep up with her. Her idea of a perfect day hadn’t changed much over the years: sun on her face, espresso martini in hand, a 4-wheeler nearby, and good people around her. Camp was her sanctuary with her life-long friends from Florida and Pennsylvania being her constants. Sandee’s trips to Pittsburgh and Baltimore to see her daughters and their families were among her greatest joys in life.
She enjoyed her visits back to the “County” in Northern Maine to spend time with family and friends and reminisce about her childhood working at her father’s jewelry store and picking potatoes.
She was the kind of woman who could light up a room without trying, order the “Ali” Tuna just to keep things interesting, and tell you her truth with enough love behind it that you were grateful she did. She lived fully, loudly, and entirely on her own terms — and she inspired everyone around her to do the same.
Sandra is survived by her daughters Cheryl Kehoe and husband Mark of Pittsburgh, PA, and Kim Letke and husband Joe of Timonium, MD. Her beloved grandchildren: Zachary Kehoe and wife Mackenzie (Royal Oak, MI); Maddie Wilberding and husband Kevin (Troy, MI); Max Kehoe and fiancée Sidney Howe (Washinton, DC); Julia Letke (Washington, DC); Jordan Letke (Timonium, MD); her great-grandson, Wesley Wilberding, and brother-in-law Gary Langley, (Caribou, ME.)
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Culberson; her sister, Marylin Langley; her sister-in-law & brother-in-law Carol and Gib Beckwith; and her beautiful granddaughter, Kelli Letke.
Sandee was loved and will be truly missed. Her Celebration-of-Life services to be determined later.

Kim, Cheryl, and Families, sending you hugs and much love from Northern Maine. I loved your mom – she and my brother, Roger were in the same class at Presque Isle High School. Sander tried her hardest to keep Roger from “trouble”. Haha that didn’t work. Hoping they are having a drink together – Roger left us last January.

I will miss my friend dearly. She was a shining light in our little neighborhood. I’ll never forget teaching her how to play LRC the dice game. She saved her quarters so she could play. May she rest in peace.
