Annamarie Meyer went home to be with our Lord in Heaven on May 19th, 2026.
Annamarie Meyer was born on December 15th, 1927, in Gottlieben, Switzerland, to Konrad Weiler and Elise Weiler (née Egloff). She was the youngest of six children. In 1954, she moved to New York, where she built a life centered on family, hard work, and community.
Annamarie worked at St. Mary’s Boys Orphanage in Syosset, New York, for 20 years. She later worked in the food court at Suffolk County College until retiring at the age of 75.
Annamarie loved knitting, especially her signature slippers. Her grandchildren eagerly looked forward each Christmas to receiving their annual pair of Grandma’s beloved “booties.” She also loved to cook, a passion reflected in both her career and home life, and she passed that love of cooking down to her children and grandchildren.
She enjoyed daytime television, especially The Price Is Right and her favorite soap operas, and she was never shy about sharing her opinions of contestants or actors. She also enjoyed painting ceramics with her daughter at their community center.
Annamarie loved swimming, Swiss chocolate, live music, and dancing. For the last five years of her life, she was a beloved resident of Trinity Place Assisted Living, where she formed many cherished friendships with both residents and staff. Her cheerful sarcasm and bright smile brought joy to every gathering and activity.
Annamarie was preceded in death by her parents; her three brothers and two sisters; her son, Andre Meyer; her daughters-in-law, Debbi Alfren Meyer and Francine Irwin Meyer; and her son-in-law, David Biggers.
She is survived by her sons, Urs Meyer and Richard Meyer (Rochelle); her daughter, Collette Biggers; nine grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on July 15th, 2026, at 11:00 am, at Thomas B. Dobies Funeral Home, 8825 Old CR 54, New Port Richey, FL 34653.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Dementia Society of America.

To Annamarie’s family,
I just wanted to share how truly special Annamarie, our “Momma,” was to all of us over the past five years. She brought so much laughter, personality, and joy into our days, and she will be deeply missed.
There was never a dull moment with her around. From calling her medicine “poison,” to laughing and giggling at all of our crazy outfits on dress-up days, she always knew how to make us smile. One of my favorite memories will always be her sticking her tongue out and rolling around with her pool noodles to smack everyone in the butt. And if she didn’t approve of something, you could always count on her calling someone “kookoo.” That was just Momma — full of sass, humor, and life.
She made such an impact on everyone who cared for her. She wasn’t just a resident to us; she became family. Her spirit, her laugh, and the little things that made her uniquely her will stay with us forever.
Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this difficult time. It was truly a blessing to know and care for her.
