Steven Wayne Patton
Born on September 27, 1953 to beloved parents Kathleen and Elvin Patton, Steve spent many of his formative years and early 20s on the east coast including Norfolk, Virginia and Nyack, New York. He went on to attend Nyack College leaving a legacy playing semi-professional soccer, and coaching at Mercer University.
His faith led him to move to South America as a missionary in 1982 where his religious dedication and love of soccer allowed him to connect with many. He spent memorable years with his family in Georgia, Texas, Virginia, and Florida where he enjoyed hunting, leading youth camps, spending time with his five kids, thrifting, collecting brass, finding great diners, and hitting the dance floor with his signature snap and twist.
After making a considerable impact coaching, serving as Principal and teaching Spanish, Math, and Special Education, Steve retired from a meaningful career in education in 2021.
He is survived by his five children; eldest son Michael, then Jonathan, Joseph, daughter Rebekah and youngest son Timothy.
His legacy lives on in the hearts and memories of so many who greeted him along his journey.
He was a cherished friend, a charismatic leader, a serving member of his community and beloved father.

1 Cor. 13:12
For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I will know fully just as I also have been fully known.
Until we all meet again.
