Roy A. Leskie, 62, of New Port Richey, Florida, passed away at home on June 25th, 2026.
Roy was born in Springfield, PA on April 28, 1964. He attended Catholic school in both Pennsylvania and Pinellas County, graduating from Clearwater Central Catholic High School in 1976. Roy proudly worked for Duke Energy for 44 years, 35 of those as a lineman. His coworkers—who were his extended family—remember Roy as a dedicated leader, crew member, and friend. He was an avid Harley Davidson aficionado and owned several bikes over the years. Roy found great joy in bodybuilding, spending many hours at his local gym. Even at 62 years old, Roy was deadlifting 335+ pounds. As one of his favorite bodybuilders, Ronnie Coleman, would say, “Yeah, buddy! Lightweight!”
Roy will be deeply missed by his family and many friends and coworkers. He is survived by his son Nikolas A. Wyland (Vanessa G.), niece Vanessa Scarborough, nephews Jeffrey and Freddie Kiefner, and his dog, Fenway (“Finn”). Roy was preceded in death by his parents Leroy H. and Rose Leskie, sister Carol Kiefner, and brother Richard Leskie.
Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of Roy on Sunday, July 5th at 3:00pm at Dobies Funeral Home, 8825 Old County Road 54, New Port Richey, FL 34643. For those who wish to pay their respects prior to the service, a viewing will be held from 2:00 to 2:30pm.
