Joy Leola (Streeter) Blood passed away peacefully on July 1, 2026, while holding her daughter’s hand and surrounded by the love of her family. She was 81 years old.

Joy was born on May 12, 1945, in Glens Falls, New York, to Gordon Silas Streeter and Leola Rosebrook Streeter. She grew up alongside her siblings, Judith Streeter of Michigan, Jim Streeter of Florida, George Streeter of Michigan, and Cynthia Shaw of Washington State.

In December 1970, Joy married Frederick Blood. Although they later divorced in 1976, they shared one daughter, Lisa Lee McArthur. Joy was also a proud grandmother to Ryan Keith McArthur and absolutely adored her son-in-law, Brian McArthur, who held a special place in her heart.

Throughout her life, Joy was known for her strength, independence, dedication, and unwavering work ethic. She worked for Frank Tate at Tate & Tate Law Firm and later in commercial real estate in the Albany and Colonie, New York, area. She also worked for the Village of Colonie before relocating to Florida in 1999.  After moving to Florida, Joy continued her career in Community Association Management, working with First Choice before serving as property manager for Mediterranean Manors.

Above all, Joy was devoted to her family. She was a woman of faith. Joy loved entertaining family, especially her mother, her grandmother, and their friends. After retiring, she loved her Florida home, its peaceful water view, and watching the wild birds that visited each day.

Joy was preceded in death by her parents, Gordon Silas Streeter and Leola Rosebrook Streeter, and by her former husband, Frederick Blood.

She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Lee McArthur of Florida; her son-in-law, Brian McArthur of Florida; her grandson, Ryan Keith McArthur of Florida; her siblings, Judith Streeter (Michigan), Jim Streeter (Florida), George Streeter (Michigan), and Cynthia Shaw (Washington State); along with many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Joy will be remembered for her resilience, her independence, her dedication to those she loved, and the quiet grace with which she lived her life.
